Scholars enrolled in the Doctoral Programme at IIM Mumbai are systematically groomed to analyse complex phenomena, policies, and practices through a rigorous, multi-disciplinary lens. The programme nurtures a methodical, evidence-based, and ethically grounded research temperament, enabling scholars to critically examine existing knowledge, generate original insights, and contribute meaningfully to policy formulation and institutional best practices aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

At the same time, the Ph.D. journey is designed to develop outstanding scholars capable of producing internationally benchmarked, impactful research in management and allied disciplines. With close faculty mentorship, access to advanced analytical tools such as Generative AI, Agentic AI, and ML, and a vibrant intellectual ecosystem, scholars gain the skills and vision to influence management theory, practice, industry, and governance in India and globally.
