Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Honours in Economics is a full-time three-year undergraduate degree course offered by the University of Calcutta, Kolkata.

The Department maintains a very high demand ratio every year. One of the strengths of the Department is the consistently excellent result of the students with a high percentage securing first class and a good number of rank holders. Almost 100 percent of our students pursue post graduation degree from renowned Institutes and Universities all over India, including DSE, JNU, ISI, IGIDR, CDS, Madras School of Economics, JU and CU. A few students even go for higher education to renowned foreign institutes. Many of our ex-students are currently pursuing Ph.D. programmes in India and abroad. Others get absorbed in high-quality jobs.

Eligibility Criteria

A person, who have passed Higher Secondary/Intermediate (10+2) with science stream or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto, shall be eligible for the course.

Admission Details

Admission is conducted strictly on the basis of merit.

College Infrastructure

The college provides all the necessary facilities like clean classroom, labs, easy accessible libraries. Hostel facility is also very good. The campus itself is very clean and student friendly. The canteen also provides hygienic food but slightly the price is high for college students to afford it everyday. The dinning area is clean and spacious.

College Infrastructure

The college is equipped with good infrastructure and other facilities and other equipment. Classrooms and laboratories are well designed and are conducive to create a good environment to study. They are well maintained as well. The living spaces are clean and the food is hygienic too.

College Infrastructure

Our college owns a quite well maintained infrastructure. Economics department's classrooms are well equipped with laptops and projectors. There are four libraries including an e-library. Computers are upgraded to the latest software. The college has wifi facility for the students. Hostel facility is also available. Canteen offers a wide range of delicious food items at a very cheap rate. Its very hygienic.
