Both the Colleges i.e., Madras Christian College, and Loyola College, follow the general eligibility norm same thorough out India.
The eligibility criteria states that the Candidate must have passed class 12th with minimum 50% marks in any subject stream from a recognised Board of education. Candidates belong to other than Tamilnadu Board need to produce an eligibility certificate.

The minimum eligibility to apply for b.com general in Loyola college is HSC / 10+2 with Commerce/Business Studies,Accountancy,Mathematics/Business Mathematics/Statistics, Computer Science/Economics .

The admission is usually taken on the basis of merit in class 12 followed by interview. The admission procedure for all ug courses will start after the declaration of class12th result. To secure a seat a percentage above 90 os required.
