Diploma in Metallurgical Engineering is a three-year full-time course offered by West Bengal State Council of Technical Education, Kolkata, and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).


Eligibility Criteria

JEXPO:

a) Qualification: The entrance examination is to test the skills and knowledge of the candidates based on their higher secondary education. The educational qualification is mentioned below.

  • Candidates must secure a minimum of 35% aggregate marks in their secondary examination from any recognized Board of Examination in the state, as per AICTE norms.
  • Applicants who are to appear in the final secondary examination this year are also eligible to apply for JEXPO.
  • Mandatory Subjects: English, Mathematics, and Science is a compulsory subjects that the candidate must take for his/her secondary education and examination.

b) Age Limit: Candidates who have reached the age of 15 can apply. Candidates born before July 2006 are eligible to apply for JEXPO. Students born after 2006 are ineligible for this year. There is no maximum age limit to apply for JEXPO.

c) Domicile: Candidates who are domiciled in the state of West Bengal are eligible to apply.

VOCLET:

a) Qualification: Must have passed/appeared* the (10+2) Examination of the West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Skill Development (Vocational Education Division) [erstwhile, West Bengal State Council of Vocational Education & Training], or passed 2 years’ ITI at a stretch after Madhyamik OR equivalent examination passed. Appeared ITI candidates are not eligible for VOCLET. ITI trades must be of continuous 2-year duration, and the single certificate should mention the duration of the ITI course. OR Passed/appeared* 10+2 examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with Mathematics or Biology subjects from a recognized Board / Council / Institute. OR Passed/appeared* 10+2 (Science) with Mathematics as one of the subjects from a recognized Board / Council / Institute. OR Passed/appeared* 10+2 (Science) with Technical Vocational Subjects from a recognized Board / Council / Institute (including CSS for VHSE). 

b) Age Limit: Candidates who have reached the age of 15 can apply. Candidates born before July 2006 are eligible to apply for JEXPO. Students born after 2006 are ineligible for this year. There is no maximum age limit to apply for JEXPO.

c) Domicile: Candidates who are domiciled in the state of West Bengal are eligible to apply.

Admission Details

Applicants who are to appear in the final secondary examination this year are also eligible to apply for JEXPO.
