Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering is a four-year full-time undergraduate program recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and offered by the Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Rourkela.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates desirous of admission into the 4-year Degree Programme in Engineering and Technology in the branches of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Computer Science Engineering at Seemanta Engineering College are to meet the following eligibility criteria:

He / She should have passed +2 Science or XII standard with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with any one of the following subjects from Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Electronics / Information Technology/ Statistics / Computer Science. The candidate should have passed the individual subjects and must have obtained at least 45% (40% for the candidates belonging to the ST/SC category) in the above subjects taken together.

Lateral Entry
He / She should have passed 3 years diploma in Engineering in the appropriate branch of Engineering/Technology from the State Council of Technical Education and Training (SCTE & VT) or equivalent with a minimum of 45% (40% for the candidates belonging to the ST/SC category).
• He / She should have possessed a valid rank card of OJEE.
• He / She should be a native of Odisha / should have completed his / her 3-year diploma in Engineering course in an institute of Odisha.
• He / She should have opted for Seemanta Engineering College as his / her choice & mentioned the disciplines of Engineering available for admission into B.Tech. Program through the Lateral Entry scheme during the time of online choice fill up and at Nodal Centers of OJEE during counseling.
For Admission to 2nd year Degree Courses in Engineering and Technology under the Lateral Entry scheme for B.Sc./+3 Science Students:
He / She should have passed the Bachelor's Degree Examination of 3 years' duration in Science in the relevant field from any University of Odisha or equivalent recognized university as defined by UGC with a minimum of 45% (40% for the candidates belonging to ST/SC category) in aggregate in the qualifying examination and must have passed XII standard with Mathematics as a subject.
• He / She should have possessed a valid rank card of OJEE
• He / She should have opted for Seemanta Engineering College as his / her choice & mentioned the disciplines of Engineering available for admission into B.Tech. Program during the time of online choice fill-up and at Nodal Centers of OJEE during counseling.

Admission Details

The institute would admit 90% of its total intake capacity, i.e., 513 Students per year, for the academic session with a valid Rank in the JEE (Main) followed by the counseling process of OJEE and the rest 10% of the total seats i.e., 57, would be filled up through the NRI quota / Management quota scheme, as decided by the Govt. of Odisha.
All these seats would be allocated to the students through OJEE counseling conducted by Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Rourkela, Odisha.
Further, 5% of the total seats of the institute would be admitted under the Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme (TFW) beyond the approved intake capacity, as per the norms of the Government and AICTE.
The left-out seats, if any, may be filled up by the rank holders of JEE (Main). The admission procedure is subject to change by the Govt. of Odisha / BPUT, Rourkela.
For Lateral Entry (B.Tech)
The institute would admit 100% of its total intake capacity, i.e., 116 Students per year, for the academic session with a valid Rank in the OJEE followed by the counseling process of OJEE.
