Master of Arts (M.A) in Bengali is a two-year full-time postgraduate Course offered by St Xavier's College, Kolkata and affiliated to University of Calcutta, Kolkata.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who have cleared the B.A. Examination with English Honours with a minimum of 55% marks in Honours (45% for reserved category).
Candidates who have completed a 2nd year or 5th Semester in 2018 and are awaiting final year / 6th-semester Examination Results are also eligible to apply. Admission for such candidates will be provisional and be conditional to their passing the qualifying examination with the minimum required marks [55% for General and 45% for Reserved category].
No candidate shall be eligible for admission after a lapse of more than five years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination. The year of admission will not be taken into account while calculating five years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination.

College Infrastructure

Calcutta University was one of the oldest college in West Bengal as well as Kolkata. Old heritage building, large classrooms, ancient library, college canteen and small garden were also available in our time. The campus was overall good in our generation.

College Infrastructure

Calcutta University was one of the best college for Bengali in our generation. The Old royal buliding lab playground seminar room conference room were also too good in our time. Library and all types of sports facilities were very good.
