1. Campus have both casual and corporate vibes which is good, but the bad point is the campus area is small. 2. There are many commetties in college , and students can join cultural events, give stall, showcase , art, join seminars.
I am currently pursuing my BCA at SVIMS, and the infrastructure here is top-notch for modern education. The labs are the highlight—very well-maintained with all the necessary software for our course. The entire campus has great connectivity. Beyond the classrooms, the living spaces and hostels are very hygienic, and the food served in the canteen is healthy and tasty. It’s great to see a college that maintains its equipment so well. I’m really happy with my choice for the 2024-2028 session.
I am currently a BCA student (batch 2024-2028) at SVIMS Kolkata. I picked this course to build a strong foundation in computer applications. The teachers are knowledgeable and very supportive when you have doubts. While the curriculum covers the essentials, I sometimes feel we could use more deep-dives into the very latest industry trends. However, the overall quality of education is solid, and the college focuses well on making sure we understand the core logic needed to be job-ready in the future.
The placement cell at SVIMS is very proactive. For our BCA course, I’ve seen that almost 80–85% of students get placed every year in reputable companies like TCS, Wipro, and Amazon. The highest packages go up to around 6 LPA for big MNCs, while the average stays around 3.5 to 4 LPA. The college is very supportive, organizing grooming sessions and mock interviews to make the process easier for us. As a student in the 2024-2028 batch, I feel confident about my future job prospects here.
The course fee for BCA at SVIMS is roughly ₹60,000 per year, which is quite affordable compared to many other private colleges in Kolkata. For this price, I feel I’m definitely getting my money’s worth. We have access to decent lab facilities, air-conditioned classrooms, and helpful faculty who are always ready to guide us. While it isn't a high-end luxury campus, the quality of education and the consistent placement support make it a very practical and budget-friendly choice for a four-year degree.
Campus life at SVIMS is pretty vibrant. The best part is the annual fest and the freshers' parties where everyone really gets to know each other. While the campus isn't massive, it’s a very safe and friendly environment located in a convenient part of the city. The teachers and support staff are quite helpful even outside of class hours. Whether it’s participating in a seminar or just hanging out in the common area during a break, there's always a good vibe. It feels like a small, close-knit community where you aren't just another roll number.
Joining the 2024–2028 BCA batch has been a transformative experience so far. One thing I’d love to highlight is the sense of community; the seniors are incredibly helpful, and there’s no ragging culture, which made settling in much easier. If you are serious about a career in tech but want a college that feels supportive and personal rather than just like a massive corporate machine, this is a great pick. My biggest advice would be to stay proactive—participate in the seminars.
