Infrastructure is Good. Libraries so Good As well as laboratory but sport's ground is small need to expand canteen is small just 1 or 2 canteen available.Food is quite good. Hygienic as well. Wifi is limited.
Old school method of teaching no modern approach to real world exposure, no more Case study method, few seminar only, faculty is well knowledgeable but not able to deliver their knowledge properly and exactly.
No Good placement is coming only entry level fewer jobs coming campus only night shift, No proper announcement from placement committe , just 10 to 15% get placed overall during my graduation year. Highest is 2.5LPA.
Woth for penny especially when you are Merit .It cost around only 8k to 10k .When comes to aided it costs around 40k per year but scholarship also available if you perform better in Exam and attendance % is maintained well.
It's the safest campus, located in center of the city. There is no more activities for student engagement. Staff support student only when they they previously achieved. They won't support extra curricular activities.
Stop the political union.
It was good. The lab infrastructure was good but there no wifi facility in there. Update will be needed, There is only one common ground , class room looks 90' s style, not much facilities are there for students.
Academic syllabus was quite good but the syllabus was seems older not gave any challenge and real knowledge for student. And there is no exposure to outer region college like iit for building project
Actually there is good placement in this college but few company are good like accenture etc. But it not known by many students. And also there is no assistance for placement itself. Even though good came this things not known by many students.
For my coarse its so low because it was government aided. And for all coarse it seems value for money
Campus Life was average and student not focused on study.
College has quite good Infrastructure, but not well equipped, smart boards are provided all the department, wifi is limited, small sports ground. Living space are clean, quality of food is good but canteen is very small.
Academic are traditional way approch, no modern way teaching, case study and seminars are very few, some times unrelated to reality concept which was not existing in current scenario.Curriculam should need be updated.
Placement is very poor.just 10% of students get palced in campus. Others need try their own, No proper training for placement and alumini network is not good as well to connect the students. No proper guidance during placement.
I quietly say worthy for money, per year cost Rs.35 k to 40k for aided in merit per year just 8k . scholarship also there if you perform better in exam and attendance percentage is maintained well also..then you will get every 2nd semester scholarship.
Campus is safe..it was located centre in the City.In sports staff will support but extra curricular activities they won't support like culturals.
Just Avoid the political union it will ruin your career.focus on studies or sports.
The New College in Chennai is a reputed arts and science institution known for its strong academics and inclusive environment. It offers a wide range of courses with experienced faculty, good infrastructure, and active campus life. The college also provides decent placement opportunities and affordable education, making it a solid choice for students seeking quality higher education in the city.
The professors at The New College are knowledgeable, approachable, and supportive. They explain concepts clearly and guide students both academically and personally, creating a positive and effective learning environment.
Placements at The New College are considered average. Some reputed companies like TCS, Infosys, and Accenture do visit the campus, and a fair number of students secure jobs with salary packages typically ranging around ₹2.5–4.8 LPA.
Yes it's value for the money
It's goods
overall my experience with the infrastructure has been good. The classrooms are spacious and comfortable for learning. Our commerce department has the basic facilities we need, and the library is one of the best parts of the college. It has a good collection of books for B.Com students and provides a peaceful environment to study. The campus is clean and has a decent atmosphere. There are facilities like an auditorium, sports ground, and hostel for students who need accommodation. However, the campus is not very large, and sometimes common areas feel crowded. Wi-Fi access is also limited in some areas. Overall, the infrastructure is satisfactory for academics, especially for commerce students, but it is not very modern compared to some newer colleges.
academically the college follows mostly a traditional method of teaching. Most classes are lecture-based, and there is limited use of presentations, case studies, or interactive activities. Seminars and practical sessions are not conducted frequently in our department, which reduces exposure to real-world applications. The senior faculty members are experienced and have strong subject knowledge. They explain concepts clearly and provide good guidance, especially in core commerce subjects. However, some newly joined faculty members do not always meet expectations in terms of teaching style, clarity, or engagement. Overall, the academics are decent and theory-focused, but there is scope for improvement through more modern teaching methods, regular seminars, and industry-oriented learning.
I feel the placement support is below average. The number of companies visiting the campus is limited, especially for commerce students. Most of the job roles offered are basic entry-level positions with low salary packages. There is a placement cell, but the training and preparation support are not very structured. Skill development sessions, internships, and industry exposure could be improved. Many students depend on their own efforts to find better job opportunities outside the campus. Overall, placements are not very strong, and students need to take extra initiative to build their careers.
I feel the college is okay in terms of value for money. The fees are affordable compared to many other colleges in Chennai, which makes it a good option for students from middle-class backgrounds. You get decent teaching, basic infrastructure, and a disciplined academic environment. However, placements are below average and there is limited industry exposure. So, while the college is budget-friendly, students need to put in extra effort on their own to build skills and find better career opportunities. Overall, I would say it gives average value for the fees we pay — not excellent, but reasonable.
would say campus life is simple and decent. It’s not very flashy or super active, but it’s comfortable. Most days are regular with classes and friends, and the environment is disciplined. There are some cultural events, sports activities, and department programs, but they don’t happen very frequently. The campus crowd is friendly, so you can make good friends and enjoy small moments like spending time in the canteen or library. Overall, campus life is calm and more focused on studies. It’s good if you prefer a peaceful atmosphere, but if you’re expecting a very exciting and happening college life, it might feel average.
my overall experience has been average. Don't Join any activities like election union it will ruin your studies.Better focus on skills
College is great accessibility is a key strength of the campus infrastructure. The thoughtful design includes ramps, elevators, and tactile paving, ensuring that all facilities are accessible to students with disabilities. It's heartening to see such inclusivity in action
Academics is good faculty of this coal is one of the best in terms of explaining concept with real world examples that help the students understand the concept well. The curriculum of our course is very useful and well defined as it helps students for our placement as well.
Placement is based on the student knowledge and performance. The highest package is 50 lpa and the average packages 6 lpa and the lowest packages 2.5 lpa. The placement and the carier development centre interact on a regular basis with the students and their latest no about the current trends.
Yes college is value for money.
Campus Life is great.
Nothing
Infrastructure are nice as it fulfilled lot of our requirements and also it is neat and cleans and also this college have bus services , canteens , labs , libraries etc , so the infrastructure is really good in this college
Academics are also good and also its being in the hands of well qualified and well skilled staffs to too the teaching and also they are being friendly and kind to us which makes us easy to communicate with them
Placements are just average and also they need to bring more reputated companies to the campus drive and also they need to do much better in the field of campus drives ,apart from that everything is good and neat
this college have a good value for money even thought it's not being good enough in campus drive so you don't need to worry about it and also fees are pretty affordable
Campus life here is good also its only boys only college so you can explore it without any restrictions and alo you will be free so it's good
I'm having a really good experience in this college
The infrastructure has recently upgraded and they have all the necessary infrastructure in the college they well developed classroom, laboratories, and even hostels and they also offer wifi for the student.
Iam studying b.com in b.com department quality of teaching is best and teachers in my department teaches in a unique manner and helps to understand clearly about what they teaching and the curriculum has been up to date
Placements are fantastic they offer Placements in wide range They offer Placements from top corporate companies which is very useful they guide the students and help them in Placement process. They also train the student to how to attend interviews
It is definitely value for money because they offer quality education by taking a reasonable amount of money
The college has best feature and the teachers and staffs are very supportive
It is a fantastic experience in studying in the new college now they have developed and new upgrades has been done. And even the infrastructure has also upgraded
The new college was one of the center of the city in chennai and it provides various necessary infrastructure facilities and students make usefull in studies moreover there are some many computer labs and science labs
I have pursued B.Com ISM,in this course have provided computer and management skills based subjects were taught and make useful for the future purpose and it has various scopes to improve computer based knowledge and skills as well as management skills.
The various placements offers were given to the students with good packages of salary in both areas arts and science background in recent times B.com has more placement opportunities came in the campus
Yes my college has all necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipment. Yes the facilities in my classroom, laboratories, library, sports centre and hostels they are well used and well maintained food is hygienic
The quality of teaching is very good and all the time it is a very good institute and the curriculum is updated and includes all the recent developments in the field. It makes myself job ready because the study and teaching is very good
The quality of placements is average and the percentage of students getting placed is unknown to me. The average salary offered is also unknown to me the process of placements is ok enough where the students can be placed in good company
