Hello candidate. As you mentioned that your rank is 1172 in APICET, there might be a chance for you to get admission in JNTUK, AU, SVU. The most important thing is that getting an admission in any college is mainly based on your category. As you did not mention your category we cannot say that you can get admission in particular college.

Hello Narasimha.

With your rank it is difficult to get a govt college. But you might try for private colleges like RVR an JC college of engineering. It is one of the best college of AP. So don't feel low if you don't get a govt college. But you may try and sit for counselling as cutoffs change every year depending on the paper difficulty and no of students appearing. You may try your luck. Hope you get your desired branch and college. Hope for the best.

Hope it helps.

Hello

Geo Informatics course is the course which is done to tackle the problems related to the geography,Geo science and related branches of engineering with the help of technology for example building a weather sensing machine which is used to predict weather.

Marine Engineering is branch which is done to study the mechanical systems on a ship and most tof the times the job is on the ship, you have to stay onboard on a ship for a lot of time. You have to maintain the ship and have to keep it running smoothly. You can also join NAVY after this brach of engineering.

Hope it helps.

Hello

Yes this is a very good field of engineering this field is used to design and maintaining onboard propulsion systems so that the ships and vessels can last long(since they are very expensive) as well as their efficiency is maximum. You need to be onboard on a ship depending on your job profile you can also join navy after doing this branch.

Hope that helps.

Hello student both are two different things marine engineering is totally different as if you do marine engineering you have to work on a ship for months and that's a very hectic job so ask yourself what you want to do. Marine engineers focus on the mechanical systems that are used on a ship. Their job is to keep ships running smoothly, which means that they may supervise the maintenance and repairs on a ship's engines, navigation equipment and other mechanical systems.Mechanical engineering is the discipline that applies engineering, physics, engineering mathematics, and materials science principles to design, analyze, manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems. It is one of the oldest and broadest of the engineering disciplines.

Feel free to comment if you have any doubt
Good luck

Hello aspirant,
Both the branches are important at their own place. It depends solely on your choice whether you would ho for marine engineering or mechanical engineering.

It can be said that it totally depends on how you want to shape your future.
According to present scenario, for Jon opportunities mechanical is a better branch. It gives you vast opportunities like job, you can also prepare for UPSC, banking exam, PSU's or rather do M. Tech afterwards .

But if you are sure that you are interested in Merchant navy then go for marine engineering only. It's fees is comparatively greater than mechanical engineering.
But the salaries are also higher.
I would suggest to try in IIT's and NIT's for better opportunities. This would help you further to decide :
