               The cutoffs fo CSE/IT/ECE/EEE in CEG/MIT are quite high. With your rank, it will be difficult to secure a seat in these branches in MIT/CEG.

             Last year's cutoff for ECE in MIT was 1812(closing rank) in MBC category. However this is the overall rank in MBC category. So you have less chances of getting ECE in MIT with an overall rank of 8645.

             The cutoff for Production engineering in MIT in 2018 was around 2240(opening)-5493(closing) in OC category. If your community is BCM, you may have some chances of getting Production engineering in MIT, in case the cutoffs drop as compared to last year(which was 9473 under BCM community).

   Last year's TNEA cutoff ranks for Mechanical(ss) in MIT was 1017(opening) -2018 (closing) in OC category. So, it will be difficult for you to get a seat in MIT in Mechanical branch, as your CR is higher than the cutoffs for the same in under any community. However, it may depend on your community(whether it is BCM/BC/MBC/SCA/SC or ST).

             The cutoff for ECE in MIT and CEG was 892 and 103 (closing rank in general category) respectively, for the year 2018. So, you have less chances of getting ECE in these colleges, however, it depends on your communinty.

           According to last year's cutoffs for Mechanical engineering (which were 761 for PSG, 725 for Anna University), 2018 for MIT(mechanical ss) under OC category), it will be difficult to secure a seat in Mech with your rank. However, it depends on which community you belong to. If you belong to SCA/SC community, you can get Mechanical in these colleges.

             The cutoff rank for CEG was around 7684(Printing Technology) and  for  MIT, it was around 10535( Rubber and Plastic Technology) in OC category, for the year 2018. So, you may get a seat in CEG/ MIT depending on which community you belong to(MBC/BC/SCA/SC/BCM).
