Hi, First of all if this 42987 is your All India Rank without lying in any category then there are very high chance to get into any IIIT if you add your SC category, but if this is your only SC category rank in place of AIR than I'm sorry to say you will not be able to get any of the IIIT's.

If you get ECE at IIT Roorkee then definitely you have to go for this because coding is your passion or you like it so you can do coding with the ECE branch as your fun and in ECE their is also the use of coding so their is a chance to get double knowledge and benefit but if you take CSE branch then you missed the opportunity to learn about the amazing gadgets and circuits you can only busy in your coding. So by getting ECE branch you have a chance to know about more and explore more.

According to my opinion you have to go for IIT Roorkee ECE branch else depend on you which branch you want to take.

Both are good colleges as it requires a good jee mains score to get admission in these colleges but according to my opinion you should go for cse from nit  as it is more better in comparison.

Congratulations on securing 4757 rank with sc category in jee mains 2020.
Now if you want information technology in iiit Allahabad then the chances are little difficult for you in all seven round counseling of jossa.
The last year's closing rank for female category students in seventh round counseling of jossa was 3938.
And for ece branch the closing rank was 5599.
And for information technology-business informatics the closing rank was 4540.

So your chances are difficult in IT department but you can get ECE.
As your rank is very good then you can also get some other good iiits or nits.

Both IIIT Allahabad and NIT Durgapur are good colleges and also both the colleges have their own pros and cons. but if you want to choose between these two then i would suggest you to go for IIIT Allahabad.

- IIIT Allahabad : this college is among the best colleges of IIIT. almost everything is good . from infrastructure to faculties and placements and fests. crowd is also good. teachers and faculties are highly knowledgeable but in few branches they are just average and course curriculum also needs improvement in some departments.

placement records are also good. top companies visit for placements and students get placed in top companies. even the lowest salary package goes around 6-8 lacs p.a. and highest package goes around 18-21 lacs p.a. they have a proper placement cell where they prepare students for interviews.

Infrastructure is good. campus looks beautiful. they have well equipped labs and you'll get proper wifi and all other facilities are available that needs to be taken care of inside the campus.

Also, they are famous for their fest.


- NIT Durgapur: NIT also has good faculty. placements are good, average package goes around 3-5 lacs p.a. and overall records of college are positive only. fees is also less as compared to IIIT.

but, IIIT durgapur Will provide more opportunities. so, i would suggest you to go for it .

Both IIIT Allahabad and NIT Durgapur have their own advantages.

• The total fees of CS at NIT Durgapur is 5.56 lacs and that at IIIT Allahabad is 5.4 lacs. So there is not much difference in fees.
• There are more placement opportunities at IIIT Allahabad as compared to NIT Durgapur as more companies visit the former.
• Even at the cultural front, IIIT has more fests planned than NIT Durgapur. So you can really enjoy more at IIIT Allahabad.
• However, NIT Durgapur has the tag of NIT which is advantageous in itself.

Seeing your rank, it is not possible for you to get admission into top 5 NITs in CS branch. But you could definitely get admission into the NITs after top 5. Also cutoffs for each year depends on the no. of students who have applied, your tank, percentile and category.
