The overall rank is expected to be in between 235290 - 264500. The category rank will be around 20000. Considering the previous year cut off you do not have chances of getting seat in the preferred IIITs. According to the rank you have mentioned in the question you have very low chances to get the IIIT Dharwad with CSE as per previous year's cut-offs on such rank even in CSAB special round 2 but yes I would suggest you to sit for some state counselling because in some of the state government colleges you can get admission on such ranks.

Note that the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors.

So according to your question you are confused in NIT Surathkal and IIIT Dharwad and according to my past experiences NIT Surathkal is considered to be good in CSE placements and have a good reputation among big MNCs and have a good average package placements in compared to IIIT.

At first place comes nit surathkal, then some good engineering colleges, then iiit dharwad and then all the other private engineering colleges. A lot of factors decide which college would be better, placements, infrastructure and a lot more. But overall nit surathkal would be a good choice.

IIIT Dharwad have decent overall placement. Placement records are not that great but consistent, average placement record is 55%. highest package offered is 15Lakhs per annum, lowest package offered is 3Lakhs per annum and average package offered is 6-8Lakhs per annum. Top recruiters are Samsung, IBM, Wipro, etc. They have good infrastructure and well qualified , highly knowledgeable teaching faculties.

IIIT Kottayam have better overall ratings than IIIT Dharwad. They have good placement records, consistent record. average placement record is around 80%. Highest package offered is 11.5Lakhs per annum, lowest package offered is 2Lakhs per annum and average package offered is around 5lakhs per annum. Top recruiters are IBM, JIO, TCS, etc. They have good Infrastructure and highly qualified teaching faculties.

From many perspectives IIIT Kottayam is better.

Considering the cut off in CSAB Special round 1 in 2019 you do not have chances of getting seat in IIIT, Dharwad and SVNIT, Surat. The cut off was as follows

IIIT, Dharwad

• CSE: 39688
• ECE:48332

NIT, Surat

• Chemical: 34930(Home state)

Cut off changes every year depending on number of candidates qualified, difficulty of exam and number of seats available etc. You may have to seek admission in any other college or if you wish to join in IIIT or NIT you have to prepare for JEE main 2021 if you are eligible.
