An interview round should always be considered as a round of acceptance, not a round of rejection. The purpose of an interview round is for the panel to judge the authenticity of your application, assess how presentable your personality is and evaluate your communication skills. Contrary to popular belief, interviews usually do not go beyond a pre-determined scope. Your profile, your ambitions and relevant world affairs will constitute a major part of your interview. In the given time constraint, there are only a limited number of questions that a panel will ask you on these grounds.

The IIM Ahmedabad PGPX interview starts with an extempore. You would be asked to pick up a piece of paper on which a topic would be written. Usually the topic would be current and likely to be based on your area of experience. In 2020, a key question could be the impact of COVID 19 on your area of business / work.

You would be given some time to think (around 2 minutes) and then asked to start discussing the topic with the interview panel. Understand that while the panel is looking to test your knowledge, it will be more interested in your own opinion / views than mere information which you would have read in newspapers / on the internet.

The fulltime Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP) is an intensive one-year residential programme created specifically for professionals with remarkable track records and 5 to 12 years of work experience in a wide range of industries.

So an executive MBA from IIMs does worth if you have a defined objective for your career.  Unlike a full-time MBA, where the students are younger and relatively inexperienced, an EMBA program is designed for professionals who have at least six to seven years work experience.

IIMs are the premium institutes for management education. One Year MBA from IIMs for working professionals is offered as a Full Time Residential MBA programme for Executives. Doing one year MBA from IIM is the dream of working professionals with work experience of 3 to 7 years.

A full-time MBA programme can be offered either in residential mode or non-residential mode. Students may have the option of choosing between residential and non-residential programmes.

IIM Ahmedabad 2021 cutoff

There is no change in the overall qualifying CAT cut offs, as well. The overall qualifying CAT cut-off for IIM Ahmedabad shortlist is 80 percentile for General Category, 75 percentile for NC-OBC, Transgender Categories, 70 for SC and PwD Categories and 60 for ST Category. The IIM Ahmedabad shortlisting process will begin in January 2022 after the announcement of CAT 2021 result.

Following are the basic criteria for the PGPX Application:

A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in any discipline. (Minimum 15 years of study as per the education system in India i.e. 10 + 2 + 3 or 4 as the case may be.)

Minimum Age of 25 years as on 31st March of the year in which the PGPX programme commences. (E.g. For PGPX 22-23 commencing in April 2022, the candidate should have completed 25 years of age by March 31, 2022, i.e. must be born on or before March 31, 1997.) There is no upper age limit.

A valid GMAT/GRE score (GMAT/GRE scores are valid for five years from the date to the application deadline date of the round in which candidate is applying. The earliest acceptable GMAT/GRE test date for the three rounds are - Round 1: August 24, 2016 Round 2: October 5, 2016 Round 3: December 7, 2016

For this year as an exception GMAT/GRE taken at home is also valid for PGPX.

Minimum 4 years of full time work experience after completion of graduation as on March 31, 2022

Yes, you can get into IIMs. However old IIMs is going to be difficult, you can definitely aim new and baby IIMs. You need to score high in CAT. You should also sit for other exams like IIFT XAT SNAP etc. And apply to institutes like MDI G which do not give much weightage to academic profile.

Well, in terms of IIMs and if they see the criteria of admission to IIMs, intelligent person is no more the one who has a good aptitude, but a person who has a strong academic profile. ... So – Academics and average profile is NOT a barrier to make it to IIMs.

The one-year programs at the IIM are offered as a Diploma, degree is not offered.

All degree-granting programs need to be at least 2 years as UGCs defines it.
All IIMs have started offering Master of Business Administration (MBA) since the passage of IIM Act 2017,
