Course Overview

The Online Privacy certification course is a 12-week elective programme which is online. This course is the responsibility of professor Ponnurangam Kumaraguru. IIT Madras, Swayam, and NPTEL have jointly taken up responsibility or offering a certificate jointly to all those who fulfil all the criteria related to it.

The Online Privacy training will help in understanding online privacy from an international perspective. The use of social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and other messaging services like Telegram and Whatsapp has risen over the years. The lack of understanding the privacy over the years for these platforms has given rise to privacy attacks in the online world both nationally and internationally. Hence this course is ideal for learning about different perspectives like cultural, psychological, and theoretical aspects of online privacy.

The Online Privacy certification fee is free. If there is a requirement for certification to be availed then the candidates have to attend a proctored exam by paying nominal money of Rs. 1000 directly to Swayam.

Academic Qualifications

Students who are in their 5th semester pursuing B.Tech shall be able to grasp the knowledge directly from this course.

Certification Qualifying Details

The learners will get the Online Privacy certification by Swayam, NPTEL and IIT Madras after successfully attending and securing passing marks in the final exam.

Evaluation process

The Online Privacy certification score is calculated depending upon the exam score, and the average score attained in all the exams. The average score that needs to be obtained in the assignment is 25% of the top 8 assignment marks out of the 12 total ones done during the course. Also, the total percentage that needs to be received in the proctored exam is 75 out of 100.
