The Understanding and Strengthening Health Systems online course is the second part of the ‘Foundations of Global Health Specialization’ course provided by Johns Hopkins University. Curated by William Brieger, the Understanding and Strengthening Health Systems certification by Coursera aims to help learners understand and cultivate health systems.
The Understanding and Strengthening Health Systems certification course follows the World Health Organization’s guidance on the main elements or building blocks of a health system. It explores four topics: health service organisations, health systems components, human resource development and capacity building, and health policy making and advocacy. The course targets learners who work or plan to work in health and development programs in low and middle-income countries.
Understanding and Strengthening Health Systems certification fees are divided into three categories depending on the duration of the chosen course. Moreover, learners are entitled to a 14-day refund period, and they also have the option to make EMI payments. While the course content is accessible to everyone through the 'audit' option, it's important to note that assessments and grading are not included with this choice.
