according to previous years cut off, you have to score rank under 9-10k to get a seat. For top branch like CSE, ME, CE your rank must be under 5k. this data may vary every year.

i cant exactly say the marks while i can say the rank as you must have below thousand rank while to get this rank you must have 200 plus score on the other hand if you have any reservation that helps you

As per the last year ranking trends, you need to score at least 200 marks to get the Mechanical Engineering seat at NIT Tiruchirappalli. 

The minimum is AIR 11000 - 170+ in JEE for NIT Trichy.

i think you're not eligible for nit,trichy.since you're having 71% in your +2 board examination.the top nit's need the candidates should have atleast 75% in their board exams.you can check it out with this link,
