B.Tech Instrumentation and Control Engineering - Batch of 2022-01-01
Academics
I studied instrumentation and control engineering. The curriculum is well designed and the professors are very good in their professions but many lack teaching ability as is true for most colleges in the country.
College Infra
College has all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipment. Library, computer center, labs etc are all well maintained and modernized. Classrooms have good atmosphere and are well maintained. Food courts and messes are hygenic and living spaces are fairly maintained.
Campus Life
Campus is large and widespread with activities, gym, sports centers, several different kinds of fests. There is very little chance of anyone not being able to find people with shared interests
Placements
Placement is well coordinated, the college is extremely reputed with a wide alumni base - there is good support for placement hence very few people go unplaced. companies like google, microsoft, amazon visit for campus placements
Value For Money
Fees is around 2L for a year - with concessions for low income and several different scenarios as is true for all NITs in the country. Absolutely worth it because the peer quality is excellent and contributes to overall development

Academics
The academic structure is well suited for understanding theoretical concepts. However, introducing more industry relevant content and practical training would help students bridge the gap between theory and practice.
College Infra
The college has a functional infrastructure that supports education effectively. There is, however, room for improvement in terms of facility upgrades and overall maintenance is still required as there is no proper wifi requirements.
Placements
Campus placements are decent, with opportunities available for students who have the right skills and preparation. More industry partnerships and a larger recruiter network could further improve placement outcomes.

M.Tech Material Science and Engineering - Batch of 2026-01-01
Academics
Teachers are exceptionally qualified. Most faculty members are of top notch , leaving a very few. This institute have a relevant curriculum , but some subjects feel outdated. Semester exams are not a big deal. Faculty members conduct daily assessment of different subjects for practice.
College Infra
The hostel and mess facilities are among the best across all NITs and IITs . We have high speed WiFi in each classrooms and hostel rooms. Mess food is great compare to other top colleges. There is curfew for first year boys . For girls, it is for all year. We have an NIT Hospital for medical issues or emergency.
Campus Life
The 800 acres campus features world class sports facilities , a large swimming pool, updated labs and a vast libray . Studets also benefits from highly active technical and cultral fests like Pragyan , festember etc.
Placements
Basically they had a principle, like passing out, students are invited to college, to help them preparing for placement grounds along with the MNCs trainers. HCL Technologies Ltd, with some more companies added every year. Highest package offered is INR 40 Lakh LPA.
Value For Money
NIT Trichy is widely considered as value for money . It's tution fee ranges from 1.5 lakh to 2.5 lakhs per year depending on courses. It reglarly attracts top global tech firm. Hostel costs are heavily subsidized compared to private colleges.
