Last year's cut off for civil branch in NIT trichy is 10000 something for general category which means at least 170+ marks. For other category's cut off you can visit here-

NIT trichy is better than IIST. You know last year i prefer NIT JSR than IIEST because i know after 4 year degree of NIT will be more valuable.
