Both are good engineering colleges and has its place for its own for their academics placements and environment. If we go by rankings of NIRF 2020 sastra stands in 25 th position and VNR in127 and if concluded in this way Sastra goes into ready choice but VNR is good too if not  compared by rankings. If not sastra do opt for VNR.

Shanmuga arts science technology research and academic is one of the best private deemed to be university situated at Thanjavur Tamil Nadu.

Sorry to say you but actually this is a very good college with good academics and placements so to get a chance you should have lower ranks. I don't think that you will get seat in trending branches like cse er eve etv. But you may get a little chance

Computer science and business system and some specialised courses. You can also get here by management quota

If you belongs to to some special category there may be chance for getting a seat in CSE branch for stream 1. Hope this will help

Here I am amusing amrita comboitre so i will suggest you to go for Amrita university , because if we will check it's academic then it has well qualified teachers with all its other facilities . Further if we talk about placement then both the Universities are mostly similar. Whatever companies visit SASTRA also visit AMRITA . But in comparative note Amrita gives you more options .

These companies provide salary packages upto 8 Lakhs per annum. CISCO provided the highest salary package i.e., 29 Lakhs per annum. The average salary package for the students of ECE is 4 Lakhs per annum.

Also, as per reviews Top recruiting companies for mechanical engineering are Ashok Leyland, caterpillar, TVS. Students generally get internships from Ashok Leyland, RE and TVS. Least package is 3.5 LPA. The highest being 12.5 LPA.

As you have got 1260 in AIR[All India Rank] in stream 1 for sastra university. Sastra university is the one of the best college every student wants to opt. As you have ranked 1260 you definitely have chances of getting allotted in the Information and Communication Technology. Fiest try in the first counselling and if you are not been allotted then try for the second counselling for sastra university. You can definitely get a seat allotted.

see unless you paid the application form, your candidature would not be accepted and you application would be considered as rejected. however since jee main april session exam has yet to conduct you may wait for again the admission opening for sastra. however mean while also try for others colleges and take part in counselling process.
