Course Overview

Understanding the complexity and integration of human body systems is fundamental to learning human physiology. SYSTEMS2x is still researching the complexities of various body systems and how those work together to maintain homeostasis. This course begins by walking you through the gastrointestinal system and how food is moved and digested along its various segments. The pancreas's roles in metabolism and digestion are also investigated. Following that, the various roles of the kidney are investigated, particularly how fluid balance is achieved. Finally, the endocrine system and hormones are emphasized for their critical integrating role in providing cross-talk between body systems.
EdX provides two modes to join the self-paced programme; verified and audit. In the verified mode, the learners can access the programme unlimitedly and in the free audit mode, they can access it for a limited period.
