If you want to choose among two universities as you asked above so I would prefer you to go with VIT Vellore because VIT Vellore ranks on 1st position by Careers360 ranking whereas UPES Dehardun is on 16th position. Moreover VIT has better quality education with proper placement

Both the institutes are very good. But in my opinion, for CSE department KIIT is better than UPES , Dehradun for its syllabus, faculty, infrastructure. All most 100% students get placement in this college. The good students get opportunity to participate in the abroad companies too. The average
University of Petroleum and Energy studies, Dehradun is one of the best private universities of India. Placements are also good. Most of the placements are done in IT and Software companies. For Petroleum Engineering, the placement is average. Petroleum engineers are recruited by Oil and gas companies, Energy and Power

College Infrastructure
The Infrastructure of this is very good, campus is huge and lot of space for an individual to explore the campus, canteen is also good to get some good food and sports faculty is also very nice, regular event's are also conducted here.
