Doing phd in mathematics from vit vellore is better. Because this institute give you full freedom to choose their supervisor  and their field of study. The funding for their research is same as other government institution . If you are funded lab then you can do better and can also use the facilities  provided.

Professor  here encourage the student and it is one of best deemed university who encourage student to to come up with innovative idea.

Talking about worth than yes it is worth of it if you are interested in.

IIIT trichy is a relatively very new college. Join VIT university because it is better established. But if fees is your concern you Can join IIIT trichy CSE branch instead of EC. Because CSE will have good placements there. Vit is also good in placements but fees is very high in VIT.

both colleges are equally good but if you compare HCU and vit fees is very less in HCU and cost to output ratio is very good. I would suggest you to take HCU because hyderabad location can do wonders in terms of placement.  Placement wise you can almost all offcampus interviews in hyderabad. But in vellore very less offcampus interviews will be conducted.

Vit will ne a better choice as it has great facility and placements and also it will give you many opportunities to grow. It is the one of the first colleges in india to implement the fully flexible credit system. Vit is developing at a very fast rate and also has good nirf ranking as compared to the rest. So i would suggest you to choose vit.

there are few things about scholarship in vit website, there is no specific details for maharashtra or anything else. they give scholarship based on only merit.

The scholarship is given like this:

Toppers of state and central board - 100% fee waiver for 4 years

VITEEE rank 1-50 - 75% fee waiver for 4 years

VITEEE rank 51 -100 - 50% fee waiver for 4 years

VITEEE rank 101-1000 - 25% fee waiver for 4 years

the other scholarships are if you get the top mark in your dept, there are some concretions in the upcoming year

It solely depends on which vit campus you want. If you want to take admission in main campus (vellore) then it may be difficult. But you can get admission easily. Also fees of VIT is high. I will recommend you to take admission in a state government college.

Talking about placement in vit vellore than it is around 80 to 90% in msc drug and pharmaceutical branch . Average salary package offer in vit vellore is around 5 to 7 lakh per annum. Top companies visiting are Dr reddy's laboratories, Hindustan unilever,biocon etc .
