Academics is nice and daily lectures takes place Academics in a BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) college are designed to provide students with knowledge of Ayurveda along with modern medical sciences. The course duration is generally five and a half years, including one year of internship. It combines theoretical learning, practical training, and clinical exposure. In the first year, students study subjects such as Sanskrit, Padartha Vigyan, Samhita, Rachana Sharir (Anatomy), and Kriya Sharir (Physiology). These subjects build a strong foundation in Ayurvedic principles and human body structure. In later years, students learn Dravyaguna, Rasashastra, Rog Nidan, Charak Samhita, Surgery, Obstetrics, and Panchakarma. Modern subjects like pathology, pharmacology, and community medicine are also included. Practical learning is an important part of academics in BAMS colleges. Students attend dissections, laboratory work, herb identification, and clinical case discussions. Hospital postings help them understand patient care and Ayurvedic treatments. Seminars, workshops, and research activities improve knowledge and skills. Regular internal exams, viva, assignments, and university examinations are conducted to assess students’ progress. Teachers guide students in both academics and professional ethics.
