Dr Patnam Mahender Reddy Institute of Medical Sciences, Chevella Admission Process

Dr. Patnam Mahender Reddy Institute of Medical Sciences is an extensive institution that offers complete medical education in the state of Telangana. Being a part of the diversified medical programs offered by the institute, the admission process is constructed in a way that it can give seats at PMRIMS only to the best aspirants. PMRIMS is enlisted with National Medical Commission which means it has set a standard criterion to meet the standards of education nationally.

Entrance exams at the national level are the basis for PMRIMS admissions. To fill the allocated seats for MBBS at ug, NEET is used as the examination for their UG programs. For the MD and MS postgraduate programs, admission is by the scores from NEET PG.

Students individually have to satisfy the eligibility criteria of the institution and the relevant entrance examinations accordingly. In terms of MBBS eligibility, the student must have qualified 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in addition to meeting scores in the NEET qualifying examination. To qualify for any of the postgraduate courses, an MBBS program must be completed in a recognized institution and NEET PG must be qualified.

Application Process

The admission procedure at Dr. Patnam Mahender Reddy Institute of Medical Sciences, Chevella, depends on the specific program and will be outlined as follows:

MBBS:

  • Qualify NEET with the minimum required percentile/score.

  • Register for state-level or all-India counseling processes, as applicable.

  • Select PMRIMS as one of the preferred institutions during counseling.

  • If a seat has been allotted, report to the institute for verification of documents and admission conditions.

MD/MS Programs:

  • Qualify NEET PG with the required percentile/score.

  • Register for the centralized counseling process conducted by the concerning authorities.

  • Select PMRIMS along with the selected specialization during counseling.

  • If a seat is allotted to you, then complete the admission process at the concerned institute.

The common documents required for admissions are:

  • NEET/NEET PG score card

  • 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates

  • MBBS degree and mark sheets for PG programs

  • Valid ID proof

  • Domicile certificate (if any)

  • Category certificate (if any)

  • Medical fitness certificate.

Degree-wise Admission Process

MBBS:
Admits thirteen under the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) course from PMRIMS. The approved intake is for 150 students. Admission to the MBBS program is dependent on NEET performance. This exam is conducted according to the guidelines set forth by the National Medical Commission and state authorities, requiring minimum eligibility criteria and qualification through NEET to be called for admission.

MD/MS Programs:
PMRIMS has a number of postgraduate medical courses, which include the following:

  • MD Anaesthesia (9 seats)

  • MD General Medicine (9 seats)

  • MD Paediatrics (5 seats)

  • MS Orthopaedics (5 seats)

  • MD Microbiology (4 seats)

  • MD Pathology (4 seats)

  • MS Obstetrics and Gynaecology (4 seats)

  • MD Pulmonary and Respiratory Medicine (3 seats)

  • MD Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy (3 seats)

  • MS Otorhinolaryngology (3 seats)

  • MD Biochemistry (2 seats)

NEET PG scores fully determine admission to PG courses. A student must have completed his/her MBBS degree in a recognized institution and should possess eligibility criteria as laid down by the National Medical Commission, since selection process mostly follows counseling based on the NEET PG rank.
