Furkating College Provides the Gym Facility for all Students and Teachers. “A Healthy mind resides in a Healthy Body “, complying with the saying, a professionally managed environment is created for the students. Both Physical and Mental Health play an important role in the well-being of an Individual. In tune with the objective of all-around development of the students, the campus is equipped with an in-house gymnasium.

Furkating College library was started in 1981 with the establishment of the college. In the beginning, it was a few books in the library. Gradually, the library has been improved its collection and services. Students, faculty, and office staffs have membership in the college library. The objectives of our college library are to make available its resources and services as an effective supplement to the instructional programs undertaken by the college. The college libraries are facing new types of challenges in providing services. In order to cope up with the changing environment, the college libraries need to recognize their systems and procedures and adopt modern techniques in order to survive in the environment of continuous technological development. The library has provided services equally to all members. In the modern education system, the role of the college library is becoming increasingly important to update with services and facilities to support teaching and learning activities in order to cope up with the changing needs of the time. Every year for giving inspiration to students and increasing reading habits there is a provision of such an award “Best Library User Prizes”. The library has been publishing “Granthagar” Magazine for the intellectual development of the students. Our college is situated in a rural area. Most of the students are coming from economically poor families. So, the library has more responsible for providing services to our library users. At present, the library is maintaining two parallel collections of reading materials such as traditional and electronic resources to satisfy the varied needs of the user communities. Furkating College Library has over17, 546 books, Magazine, Journal, News Paper, and E-collection, etc. We are using SOUL 2.0 Software in library management. We provide the e-resources to users by the effort of the UGC-Info net and N-LIST of INFLIBNET. To impart awareness among users, we take the initiative to develop a network that provides information and e-resources. To find the opinion of users about the development of library services a questionnaire is given to users regularly.

The college has sports facilities for all students. various games, sports, and track and field activities. The spacious ground of the college is laid out into playfields for Cricket, Football, Volleyball, and Badminton, etc. Facilities have also been provided for Yoga, Weightlifting, and Kabaddi. A Gymnasium hall equipped with all modern scientific machines like Multi-exerciser and Squash Courts is available for the use of students.

the college has established a well-equipped computer lab to keep the students abreast with the latest computer knowledge. It can accommodate 60 students at a time. The college has a high-tech computer with LAN and internet services through wireless connectivity, and LCD projection systems, hardware, and software, printers, scanners. Students, faculty, and staff have access to the computer labs, which provide the tools and technologies to produce websites, edit papers, complete class assignments, communicate via email, conduct data analyses, and access library resources. Microsoft Windows software is available for word processing, statistics, spreadsheets, and database management. A variety of graphics and website-creation software programs are also available.

The canteen is situated within the college campus. It is open for all and there is a separate seating arrangement for staff and students. All types of snacks, soft drinks, meals are available at subsidized rates. The canteen has a big kitchen and kitchen staff take extra care to provide the students and staff with nutritious and hygienic food in the campus canteen. It also provides light refreshments like packed snack items, cakes, veg. puff, beverages, etc to the students and staff of the college.

The college is having a huge indoor auditorium with a professionally deployed acoustic system and a seating capacity of about 200 people. This auditorium has immense pride in having hosted several National Level Seminar. Moreover, the auditorium is equipped with a pleasing acoustic system and a seating capacity of about 200 people to host campus-level events.

The college has an Alumni Association formed by the alumni in the greater interest of the college. Although it is recognized by the Governing Body, it is neither registered as a Trust nor under the Societies Registration Act.

The college has a Wi-Fi facility for the students and staff.
