Government Medical College, Dungarpur Admission Process

Government Medical College, Dungarpur, is one of the new medical institutions with the mandate of providing high-class medical education. The Government Medical College admission establishes strict methods for only deserving candidates to enter its medical education programmes. Government Medical College recognises the National Medical Commission (NMC) and hence ensures that clinical training adheres to state prescriptions. The bulk of admissions in Government Medical College is influenced by the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) held for undergraduate programmes and NEET-PG for postgraduate programmes. There is a predominance of a centralised admission process which minimises bias against individual student selections.

The Government Medical College admission cycle usually begins after the announcement of the NEET results, usually followed by counselling sessions for those found deserving. For this, they will have performed NEET-UG or, where necessary, NEET-PG qualifications and follow this with counselling. The educational qualifications for MBBS admission include completion of class 12 in the streams of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Candidates for NEET-UG must achieve the minimum qualifying percentile defined by the National Medical Commission. MD Pharmacology candidates, on the other hand, must have obtained an MBBS degree and subsequently qualified for NEET-PG.
