      Jhargram Government Medical College and Hospital, is a state government-funded medical institution in the district of Jhargram, West Bengal. Being one of the newest colleges, the management of JGMCH aspires to maintain high standards of medical education and health care delivery. The entrance process for students at JGMCH follows all the guidelines prescribed by the Medical Council of India regarding entrance procedures of all medical colleges and universities throughout the country. JGMCH Eligibility Candidates must qualify in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to JGMCH.

      Jhargram Government Medical College and Hospital designed its admission process to select the most deserving candidate. It is the only entrance exam conducted for the admission of aspiring medical students in MBBS colleges that are recognised by the government. It is usually conducted once a year. Although the dates for the admission process may vary from year to year, applicants must be ready to follow the NEET timeline. It usually begins with application submission in the first quarter of the year, examination in May, and results in June or July. Counseling and admission processes are usually followed in the subsequent months. The college is affiliated with The West Bengal University of Health Sciences, Kolkata.

      Steps to be undertaken for admission procedure to Jhargram Government Medical College and Hospital are as below:

      • The student has to appear for the National Eligibility Test conducted by NTA and shall have to apply for it, too.
      • Any candidate who receives a passing score in the NEET exams qualifies for the counseling procedure after the release of the NEET scores.
      • The candidates eligible to enter the West Bengal state counseling procedure need to register themselves for the same. This procedure often involves the submission of an online application and payment of fees.
      • The candidates need to produce the necessary documents that are to be verified. 
      • Candidates are allotted seats in various medical colleges, including JGMCH, based on NEET scores, ranks, and available seats.
      • After allotment of a seat at JGMCH, candidates have to report to the college within the given time frame for document verification and confirmation of admission.
      • After successful verification, candidates have to pay the admission fees to confirm their seat.

      All those looking to apply should send in all necessary documents well in advance with all eligibility criteria being met to avoid complications in the application process. Since medical admissions are very competitive, keeping a good NEET score is important for a seat in the JGMCH.

      Jhargram Government Medical College and Hospital MBBS Admission Process

      The admission to the MBBS course in Jhargram Government Medical College and Hospital is strictly through NEET merit. The college has 100 seats for the MBBS course. The general eligibility criteria include:

      • Qualifying the NEET exam with a minimum percentile prescribed by the NMC
      • Passing 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as main subjects
      • Being at least 17 years of age, as on December 31st, of the admission year
      • Should have satisfied any additional eligibility criteria declared by the State Medical Education Authority, West Bengal.

      Academics

      The teachers Are Very friendly and good . They Are always happy to help. The lectures are too good . We get to do dissection. We go to hospitals . we are able to see and learn different different medical procedures.

      College Infra

      It has very big campus. The college has canteen and as well as water facilities. The classrooms are big ,airy and well furnished. The Lts are so big and beautiful and air conditioned . The labs are well maintained .

      Placements

      The college provide placement. The students Have to do Internships provided by the College in the hospitals after that the students can do whatever they wish wether they want to study further or want to become s doctor and treat patients.
