Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Digital Electronics and Communication Systems is a two-year full-time postgraduate Course offered by JNTUA College of Engineering, Anantapur recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapur.

The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering is established in the year 1974. The department has come a long way since its inception, keeping pace with the changing needs and expectations of society. The department takes pride in its highly placed alumni all over the globe. Though it is younger in comparison to the other conventional branches of the college, the department has always been on a high growth path. At present, the department is running a full-time UG program in Electronics and Communication Engineering, two full-time PG programs in Digital Systems & Computer Electronics (DSCE) and Digital Electronics & Communication Systems (DECS) specializations and a part-time PG program in DSCE besides Ph.D. degree program in emerging areas of relevant technology.

The department has experienced and dedicated faculty who work with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. The right blend of experienced and young faculty is ensuring dynamic activities in the department. Some of the important areas of research in the department are:

To keep pace with the current technological trends, the department offers a well designed, constantly reviewed syllabus to its students. The department conducts workshops, symposia, student and faculty development programs regularly to give the much-needed exposure to the students and staff on the latest developments in the area of electronics and communication. In addition to the regular classroom teaching-learning process, the department also promotes self-learning through the student organization, Electronics & Communication Heuristic Organization (ECHO). We ensure that the qualities inculcated will make the students not only as good engineers but also as good human beings.

Eligibility Criteria

In each course, there are 18 Convener quota seats and 7 Sponsored Category seats. For Convener quota seats, apart from the required qualifying degree, it is necessary that the candidate has a valid GATE Rank or PGECET Rank.

For Sponsored Category, in addition to the qualifying degree, the Candidate must be employed with a minimum service of one year in any organization and the organization has to sponsor him/her. Admissions for this category are made through the notification for Spot Admissions. The order of preference followed in admissions is a valid GATE score/ valid PGECET Rank/Percentage marks in the qualifying examination (Minimum 50%). If any leftover seats are available in Convener Quota, they will also be filled in the Spot Admissions.

Admission Details

Admission to Two Year Master of Technology (M.Tech.) Regular Programmes is based on GATE / AP PGECET counselling conducted by the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.
