Jubilee Mission Medical College and Research Institute (JMMCRI), Thrissur, is a prestigious medical college in Kerala, India.JMMCRI offers different undergraduate, postgraduate, and super-specialty courses in various medical streams. JMMCRI's admission process is in a way that it chooses the most talented and worthy candidates through national-level entrance exams.
JMMCRI admission procedure typically begins in the first quarter of the year, with the entrance examinations in May and July. The academic year begins in August or September. Admission to undergraduate courses is through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) as the exclusive mode of entry. JMMCR admission for postgraduate studies is through NEET PG scores, while super-speciality courses require one to qualify for NEET SS.
Application procedure differs for various courses at JMMCRI
Eligibility is different for each programme. For MBBS, the candidate should have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as mandatory subjects with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks (40% in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates). Postgraduate candidates must be MBBS graduates from a recognised university with an internship completed.
Admission to most courses at JMMCRI is through an entrance test taken at the national level.
JMMCRI offers 100 seats in MBBS. JMMCRI admission is on the basis of NEET UG ranks. The candidates should pass NEET UG and undergo the counselling process of the state. The selection is completely merit-based, as per the NEET UG rank and reservation policies applicable.
There are 31 seats in 12 MD specialisations. JMMCRI admissions are done based on NEET PG ranks. The specialisations include General Medicine, Paediatrics, Anesthesiology, Pathology, Radiodiagnosis, Microbiology, Emergency Medicine, Psychiatry, Community Medicine, Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy, Respiratory Medicine, and Physiology. The seats are 1 to 4 for each of the specialisations.
JMMCRI has 11 seats in 4 MS specialisations: Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, ENT, and Ophthalmology. Admissions are through NEET PG, followed by counselling. Seat allocation is between 2 to 4 per specialisation.
JMMCRI is offering super-specialty courses in Cardiology with 3 seats and Neurology with 4 seats. Admission is on NEET SS basis, following counselling procedure. Should have already obtained their MD/MS in the same department for eligibility.
