36 MonthsBachelor of Science (B.Sc) Honours in Statistics is a full-time three-year undergraduate degree course offered by the University of Calcutta, Kolkata.
The department aspires for students to pursue higher studies as well as persuades them to practice Statistics in different organizations; both Government and non Government, as analysts (Statisticians). Students are encouraged to participate in different workshops on both statistics and Mathematics in different colleges and Institutions. For the last two years students of this department have been participating in MTUSS, the advanced theoretical statistics and mathematics workshop, jointly organized by National Board of Higher Mathematics and the University of Calcutta.
A candidate passed in the higher secondary examination (10+2) or appearing in Higher Secondary examination in the current academic year with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology as major subjects in science stream from any the recognized board.
Admission is conducted strictly on the basis of merit.
Lady Brabourne College is KNOWN for the Microbio and Economics departments and very rightfully so. The labs have adequate machines. Most of the classrooms have AC and projectors. Free Wifi is accessible. Hostel providence for students from distant places. 3 canteens with various choices(all of them are nice). Lovely fests and events too.
