A diploma holder can join B.Tech course (regular or distance) by D2D process after completing Diploma in Engineering. B.Tech program allows Diploma students to take entry directly into second year of engineering course.

For taking admission in B.Tech, you must have done at least 3 years diploma after 10th in any branch of engineering.

Some colleges take admission through lateral entry exams like Joint Entrance Examination of Lateral Entry (JELET), Diploma to Degree Entrance Competitive exam, etc. so you need to appear and crack these exams. Some colleges conducted their own entrance exam for getting entry.

If you want to take admission in LD college of engineering,Ahmedabad (One of the best government college in Ahmedabad and better than VGEC),you should have following things:-

First of all you have to score atleast 85–90 % in board’s exam.

As far as the JEE main is concerned, you should at least score above 120 ( if you want to go in CS in LD).

If you are from open category,your acpc rank should be within 400–900.(for acpc rank, see the last year cut-off).

If you are from SEBC,then it is great because you need acpc rank within 900 - 1600(for CS in LD).

If you are from SC ,ST or any other categories,you get more advantage and easily get admission in LD.

However,it is not sufficient to have good score,you should have sufficient knowledge also.

However,it is not easy to get admission in LD( a renowned Govt.College) but if you work hard ,then definitely you get admission.
