Lourde College of Nursing, Kannur Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The well-furnished central library is housed separately in the middle of the campus along with an auditorium. It has a seating capacity of 150 students at a time with 2750 Sqft. The Library is stocked with more than 3500 books of current Nursing and Medical titles and subscribes to about 20 National and International Journals.

The college provides sports and recreation facilities for the students. The sports facilities include outdoor games like Hand Ball, Tennikoit, Shuttle Badminton, and cricket and indoor games like Caroms and Chess. There is also a large playground for athletic and field events like running, shot put, Javeline, and Discuss throw. Zumba and karate classes are organized twice weekly for aspirants to improve their physical health free of cost by the Management.

A well-equipped computer lab is set for the students to have access to unlimited sources of knowledge from online journals and other educative web portals.

The college is also fortunate to have a spacious contemporary auditorium with 4000 Sqft for conducting Curricular and co-curricular official meetings and can accommodate 700 audiences at the time. This auditorium also housed a well-furnished examination hall as per KUHS recommendations with a confidential room and CCTV surveillance.

The College of Nursing is the training ground for B.Sc (N) students to develop their professional and technical skills in Nursing before stepping into Clinical Practice at the bedside. The following are the state-of-the-art laboratories set in the college for enhancing the practical skills of the aspirants. Nutrition Laboratory, Nursing Foundations Laboratory, Anatomy Laboratory, Advanced Medical-Surgical Nursing Laboratory, Community Health Nursing Laboratory, MCH Laboratory, Computer Laboratory, and A.V. Aids Laboratory.

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.

The college has Internet and Photocopying facilities for the students within the campus.

The college has two separate, well-furnished hostels for girls are available which are spacious and well-ventilated. Students are given purified water, hygienically prepared, and high-quality vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. The hostel has a Visitors’ Lounge, Study Hall, Prayer Hall, facilities for Indoor Games, Magazine and newspaper reading, and Television.

The college has three buses of its own for transport to and from the hostel and college and for outreach services and observational visits for students.
