      The Maharana Pratap College of Dentistry and Research, Gwalior, is one of the best dental colleges under the auspices of Jiwaji University, recognised by the Dental Council of India (DCI). The college offers programmes for undergraduate (BDS) and postgraduate (MDS) training in various branches of dentistry. Such Maharana Pratap College of Dentistry and Research admissions must be merit-based and uphold a common standard for all courses. MPCDR academic sessions usually run from August to September every year, whereas admissions will begin two months earlier. The qualifying exam for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes is the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). Applications for NEET for the BDS programme usually start in February, with the examination typically held in May and results being declared in June.

      For BDS, candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with compulsory subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The minimum cut-off for eligibility is 50% marks in total in PCB for students of the general category. In contrast, students of SC/ST/OBC need to secure only 40%. For MDS, a BDS degree recognised by the university and an internship completed before admission are the essential eligibility criteria. Admission of BDS and MDS in the Maharana Pratap College of Dentistry and Research  will be based on NEET scores covering Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology) for BDS and further with various subjects of BDS for MDS.

      The application process for Maharaja Pratap College of Dentistry and Research, Gwalior, would essentially involve the following steps:

      • NEET Registration: Candidates need to register for NEET (for BDS) or NEET MDS (for postgraduate courses) at the National Testing Agency (NTA) website. The application process is generally from February to March.
      • NEET Examination: The candidate has to appear for either NEET or NEET MDS, which is usually in May.
      • Result Declaration: The results for NEET are usually declared in June.
      • Counselling Registration: After the NEET results, candidates eligible will register for counselling. Counselling will be carried out either at the state level through the Directorate of Medical Education, Madhya Pradesh, or at the national level depending upon the category and place of residence of the candidate.
      • Document Verification: Candidates who are in the merit list shall report for document verification along with all the relevant certificates/documents.
      • Seat Allotment: Seats will be allotted on a merit basis as well as the preference given by the candidates.
      • Fee Payment and Confirmation of Admission: After seat allotment, the candidate shall pay the fee and confirm his admission to MPCDR within the specified time.

      Academics

      Professors are experienced in their fields, proper schedule is followed and classes are conducted, 75 percent attendance is mandatory otherwise we cant sit for exams, exams happen yearly and other internals and practical

      College Infra

      It has proper areas for Gym, sports, Cafeteria, buildings of girls and boys hostels are in a good condition with various facilities. I was a day scholar though. Medical facilities is also there. Auditorium is very big and spacious.

      Placements

      For placements, there is no such placement committee which provides placement assistances. But teachers guide you for future, if you want to open your own clinic or can apply for contractual jobs on your own
