Maharana Pratap National Institute of Nursing Education and Research, Jaipur Admission Process

Maharana Pratap National Institute of Nursing Education and Research, MPNINER, situated in Jaipur, is one of the best reputed institutes for quality nursing education. It gets recognition from the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and the Rajasthan Council for Nursing, which ensures that the high standards of nursing education are maintained. Further filtering the most dedicated and competent aspirants among its nursing programs is the extensive admission procedure that takes place at MPNINER.

The institute conducts training for two principal programs in Nursing, namely B.Sc Nursing and General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM). Regularly, the admission process for both these programs begins in the months before the commencement of the academic year. Applicants are hereby advised to constantly monitor the announcements and advertisements regarding application deadline and important dates.

Eligibility criteria for admission to any nursing program in MPNINER rely on academic merit and the other conditions laid down by the institute and those bodies that govern nursing affairs. To apply for the B.Sc Nursing course, most candidates would require 10+2 in the science subjects with respect to any recognized board, while the 10+2 of the GNM candidates would require to be in any stream and from a recognized board.

Application Process

  1. Notification: The institute announces admission for application submission for B.Sc Nursing and GNM courses.

  2. Application Form: The applicants may visit the institution or the admission office to obtain the application form. The form should be filled in correctly and completely.

  3. Document Submission: The duly completed application form is to be submitted with various supporting documents, including:

    • Mark sheets and certificates for 10th and 12th classes

    • Transfer certificate from the last attended institution

    • Character certificate

    • Medical fitness certificate

    • Caste certificate (if needed)

    • Recent passport-size photographs

  4. Application Fee: Application fees will be paid by the candidate according to the institution's instruction.

  5. Entrance Exam: An entrance exam required by either the state nursing council or the institute, if any, may have to be taken by the candidates. The institute shall notify about the same.

  6. Merit List: The merit list would have been prepared on the basis of performance in the qualifying examination and entrance test, if applicable, along with such other criteria as may be specified by the institute.

  7. Counseling and Seat Allotment: The selected candidates shall be invited for counseling, where allotment of seats would take place according to the rank in merit list and availability.

  8. Fee Payment and Admission Confirmation: Selected students need to pay course fees and submit all originals for verification to confirm admission.

  9. Orientation: Orientation of admitted students to the institution, facilities, and course structure.

Degree-wise Admission Process

  • B.Sc Nursing: This four-year undergraduate program is offered at MPNINER to impart formal nursing education. A total of 40 seats are available under the program, with admissions based on the performance of candidates at qualifying examinations (10+2) and any further entrance tests conducted by the state nursing council or the institution. As for finance, roughly Rs.280,000 (approximately US$15,600) is the fee for the total B.Sc Nursing program.

  • GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery): The duration of this course is 3 years. The GNM diploma program trains students in nursing and midwifery. A total of sixty seats are offered by the institute for this course. Admission is usually determined by the candidate's performance in the 10+2 examination along with any other criteria set by the institute or the state nursing council. Within the duration of the course, the total fee for the GNM program comes to roughly Rs. 150,000.
