National Institute of Locomotor Disabilities (NILD), Kolkata, is a premier autonomous institute focusing exclusively on locomotor disabilities. The NILD offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Physiotherapy and Prosthetics & Orthotics. The admission at this institute would be through the process to select the best who would deserve these specialized programs.

Application Process
The application process for all programs at NILD, Kolkata comprises similar steps:
1. National-level Entrance Test: Candidates shall appear for the respective national-level entrance tests on the chosen program (BPT, BPO, MPT, or MPO).
2. Application Form: The eligible candidates must fill in the NILD application form after the entrance test notification of results. The application form will most probably be available on the official NILD website.

5. Merit List: Based on the scores in the entrance exam and in additional tests/interviews (if any), a merit list of selected candidates shall be prepared by NILD
6. Admission Confirmation: Selected candidates will confirm their admission by payment of admission fees and submission of original documents within the stipulated time.
7. Medical Examination: After admission, students may have to undergo a medical examination to assess their physical fitness to follow the course.
Degree-wise Admission Process
BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy): NILD has 30 seats in BPT. The admission into this program is based on a national-level entrance test. The BPT program imparts knowledge and skills in physiotherapy as related to locomotor disabilities
BPO (Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics): A maximum of 28 seats are offered for the BPO program. Similar to the BPT, admission is by the national-level entrance exam. Important skills in prosthetics and orthotics are imparted to students in this course, with reference to rehabilitation of locomotor disabilities.
MPT Orthopaedics (Master of Physiotherapy in Orthopaedics): There are 4 seats available for this specialized postgraduate program at NILD. Admission is via a national-level entrance test for MPT. It attempts to upgrade the skill of students in the area of orthopaedic physiotherapy.
MPO (Master of Prosthetics and Orthotics): The admissions to the MPO program are via a national-level entrance test. This postgraduate course aims to provide advanced study in prosthetics and orthotics.
