NIS Chennai Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college has a boys’ hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students. Male students are admitted to the three-year course. Every year, based on the approval of the Ministry of AYUSH, PG students are admitted. A male hostel facility for 26 students is available separately within the campus. There are Deputy Hostel Wardens for the Hostel to look after the welfare of the students and the amenities of the hostel.

The college has a girl's hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students. Female students are admitted to the three-year course. Every year, based on the approval of the Ministry of AYUSH, PG students are admitted. Ladies Hostel facility for 71 students available separately within the campus. There are Deputy Hostel Wardens for the Hostel to look after the welfare of the students and the amenities of the hostel.

The college has Ayothidoss Pandithar Hospital attached to the Institute provides healthcare services to the public and imparts clinical training to the post-graduates. The OPD and IPD, with their 200-bed strength, are functioning on all 365 days of the year. In addition, NIS conducts Five outreach OPDs at different places in and around Chennai in the Semi-urban and Rural areas. The Hospital is equipped with USG, PFT, ECG, X-ray, Bio-Chemistry, Microbiology, Pathology Laboratories, and Siddha Pharmacology Laboratory for supporting the quality health care services and research activities of this Institute.

The college has a library that provides Reading Room service, Lending service, Reference, and Referral service, Reprographic service, Online service (OPAC), and Internet and Documentation service to users. The primary mission of the library is to support the research activities of the institute by providing physical and intellectual access to information. The working hours of the library are Monday to Friday from 9.00 a.m to 8.00 p.m and on Saturday from 9.00 a.m to 5.00 p.m.

The college has sports facilities for all students.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

The college has a hospital that runs a Canteen on contract for providing dietary services to patients and staff. It offers wholesome vegetarian food to staff/public attending the hospital and in-patients from 7.00 AM to 8.00 PM. Food distribution for in-patients is done by the canteen staff to all wards on trolleys. General diets are distributed in large stainless steel containers while special diets are distributed in separate stainless steel Tiffin carriers according to the needs of each patient and supervision of therapeutic diets is done by the staff nurses at the wards.

The college has a state-of-the-art Auditorium on the Campus with a Capacity of 160 Seats. It is centrally Air-conditioned with Power Back-up Generator Set. There is a beautiful Stage for a Big Screen / Projection with LCD Facilities, the latest Sound Systems, etc. It is a slanting seat arrangement for staff/public audience and facilitates the easy view of the stage. The Institute offers the usage of an Auditorium, on rent for organizing Seminars, Conferences, Workshops, Cultural Events, etc

The college has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students.
