Ranga Raya Medical College, Kakinada Admission Process

The Ranga Raya Medical College, Kakinada (RRMC) is one of the eminent colleges under Dr.YSR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada, for medical aspirants. For those interested in medicine, RRMC has MBBS, MD, MS, DM, M.Ch, and a plethora of other diploma courses to offer. It has a well-known admission process through which only the best and most deserving candidates are chosen for the courses. The Ranga Raya Medical College admission process is mainly based on All India entrance tests. Admission into the MBBS course, for instance, comes under the purview of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG). The MD and MS programmes are then based on NEET PG scores, while the super-specialty courses like DM and M.Ch are based on NEET SS rankings. The academic year at Ranga Raya Medical College normally starts in August-September, with the commencement of admission months before.

For NEET UG, the status quo is such that applications commence in February and end in March. NEET PG applications could be taken in January-February, and for NEET SS, the applications are open in February-March. For almost all the programmes, eligibility criteria may vary. Basic eligibility for admission into the MBBS programme is to have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as core subjects with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks (40% in the case of SC/ST/OBC candidates).
