RKDF Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, Bhopal Admission Process

Situated in Bhopal, RKDF Medical College Hospital and Research Centre is a premiere medical institution. Admission procedure in this institution is stringent, like in any other medical college, to provide a chance to the best candidates vying for its various health programs. Generally, the admission to the RKDF Medical College is done based on merit determined by competitive examinations that are conducted at the national level so as to ensure equity in the system. For the undergraduate program namely MBBS courses, admissions take place through NEET-UG. NEET-UG is the common entrance test for medical aspirants across India. RKDF has been blessed with the approval of 150 seats for the MBBS program, which makes this college a cherished approach for medical education.

The postgraduate admission to MD (Doctor of Medicine) and MS (Master of Surgery) programs is made through NEET-PG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduate). The college offers a wide range of specializations for postgraduate study programs comprising 13 MDs and 5 MS programs. Normally, the admission dates fit well with the examination dates for NEET-UG and NEET-PG. Application Process

The application process of RKDF Medical College Hospital and Research Centre shall be program wise:

For MBBS:

  1. Appeared for NEET-UG examination.
  2. Qualified NEET-UG with cut-off marks as prescribed;
  3. Register for centralized counseling on the basis of State or All India Quota.
  4. In counseling, the candidates will have to select RKDF Medical College as one of the preference for the allotted seats.
  5. If allotted a seat, report to the college for document verification.

For MD/MS Programs:

  1. Qualify the NEET-PG examination.
  2. Register for the centralized counseling process (state or all-India quota).
  3. Select RKDF Medical College along with the preferred specialization during counseling.
  4. If allotted, candidates must complete the admission process at college.

Under normal circumstances, the following documents required for admission are:

  • NEET score card
  • Marksheets and certificates of Std. 10 and 12
  • Undergraduate degree certificate and mark sheets (PG Courses),
  • Valid ID proof;
  • Domicile certificate (if applicable)
  • Category certificate (if applicable)
  • Recent passport size photos.

Degree wise Admission Process

MBBS: Admission to the MBBS course of 4.5 years is based solely on the performance of the candidate in the NEET-UG examination. The college has 150 approved seats for this course. Eligible candidates must complete their studies at the 10+2 level with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as their main subjects. Candidates must qualify for the NEET-UG to be able to participate in the counseling process for seat allocation.

MD Programs: RKDF Medical College is offering a total of 13 MD specializations with 55 available medical titles. Some Major MDs include:

  1. MD Anaesthesiology (9)
  2. MD General Medicine (8)
  3. MD Community Medicine (7)
  4. MD Anatomy (5)
  5. MD Physiology (5)
  6. MD Pathology (4)
  7. MD Paediatrics (3)

Selection for these courses is through NEET-PG, followed by counseling. 

MS Programs: The college has a total of 5 MS specializations covering 24 seats:

  1. MS General Surgery (10)
  2. MS Orthopaedics (5)
  3. MS Ophthalmology (4)
  4. MS Otorhinolaryngology (3)
  5. MS Obstetrics and Gynaecology (2)

The selection procedure remains the same as for MD programs where merit in NEET-PG is followed by counseling.

To get an admission for BHMS course, you should appear for NEET and get a decent score in it. If you manage to get a good marks in NEET you will be eligible to opt for the course. Therefore to get an admission for BHMS you should have a minimum of 450+. If you manage to get this score you might have a chance to make it into some of the decent colleges.
