Advanced Diploma in Marine Engineering at School of Maritime Studies, Vel's Institute of Science Technology and Advanced Studies, Chennai Offline Course

The first year of Advanced Diploma Marine Engineering (Formerly HND) course will be conducted at School of Maritime Studies, Vels University, Chennai and the second year of study will be conducted at City of Glasgow College, UK. Phase 1 is of 45 weeks at Vels University, followed by 45 weeks at City of Glasgow College. Thereafter, 8 months of sea service are required to qualify for Engineer Officer of the Watch Certificate of Competency (earlier known as Class 4 Certificate) examinations in the UK.

The candidate will have to appear in IELTS examination for English proficiency with minimum score of 5.5 before proceeding to 2nd year at City of Glasgow College, UK.
