PlacementsThe placement scenario at Surendranath College is generally considered decent and active, especially given its status as a prominent government-aided college in Kolkata with relatively low fees. However, it's important to set realistic expectations: the focus is often on high enrollment and providing a base degree, and the packages are typically entry-level.

Superb academics but physical campus is holding back.

The career guidance cell's involvement for the Journalism and Mass Communication batch often feels quite passive and notably lacks consistent effort. The opportunities they manage to secure are usually confined to low-paying, foundational roles in public relations or basic content creation within smaller agencies. These job offers are generally modest in salary, often resembling a simple temporary apprenticeship stipend rather than a proper graduate's entry-level package. Prestigious media organizations rarely visit the campus for dedicated recruiting.
