First Year - A candidate seeking admission for the first year should have passed the SSLC examination or matric or equivalent examinations, conducted by the State Board of Tamil Nadu, Chennai.

Direct second year (lateral entry) - Students who have passed the H.Sc (+2) examinations of academic or vocational (Engg.) courses, I.T.I (two years) are eligible to join the direct second year of the diploma courses.
