Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Computer Science and Engineering is a four-year (8 semesters) full-time undergraduate program recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and offered by the Solapur University, Solapur.

This department was established in 1985. Since then the department is running a UG course of CSE. Department started a PG course in Computer Sci & Engg. in 2009-10. Research laboratory under the department is recognized for Doctoral Research.

The department is equipped with the latest computer machines installed with the latest software. We have five computer laboratories which are equipped with latest terminals, scanners, printers, CD/DVD drives, multimedia mixers and legal copies of latest software like Windows NT, Linux, Novell NetWare, MS-office, Oracle 10g, Visual Studio, and C++.

These laboratories support an environment for Networking, Multimedia databases, and advanced technologies and one laboratory is oriented for basic study of electronics and microprocessor. We have one Ph.D. and two faculties pursuing Ph.D., 70% of faculty have completed their PG from reputed institutes like I.I.T, VTU Belgaum, Shivaji University, Solapur University, S.R.T.M. University and Pune University. Computer Engineering Department has been consistently bagging at least three out of the five top university ranks of Solapur University for CSE UG courses.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria for Maharashtra State Candidate and Outside Maharashtra State Candidates :

Candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed the HSC (Std.XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/ Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject

AND

Secured minimum 50 % marks (minimum 45 % marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the subjects Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject added together.

AND

Obtained a positive Composite score* i.e., marks obtained after adding 50% of JEE (Main) (Paper 1) marks and 50% of normalized Standard XII (Board or Equivalent Examination) marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

College Infrastructure

The college infrastructure is almost good. Various facilities are provided such as huge and spacious library, digital libraries and different labs for each subject. Wifi is also available, and there is a sophos login that has net access. The hostel facilities was also awesome, along with the food.

College Infrastructure

Walchand Institute of Technology is spread over about 22 acres in area. The college building is absolutely maintained in very good condition. Our college has a huge library for students to study in a healthy and silent atmosphere. The classrooms have smart board too. Our college has the facility of hostel for girls and boys both. Our college even has a canteen in campus. We have basketball court, football ground, cricket ground, volleyball court for the students.

College Infrastructure

I have been to the college for some admission work, and I have noticed that the college is kept hygienic and clean. Speaking about facilities, there are separate departments for every branch and each department is big enough. As for the basic facilities like classrooms, libraries, hostels..., there is everything that can be counted as basic requirement.
