WIT Solapur Admission Process 2021
Walchand Institute of Technology(WIT), Solapur offers UG and PG courses in engineering. To get admission to various engineering courses candidates need to appear for the Centralised Admission Process (CAP). The detailed admission process of all the courses offered by the WIT is given below:
For UG Courses:
Candidates belonging to Maharashtra State have to appear for MH-CET.
Candidates belonging to Other than Maharashtra state (OMS) required to appear for the entrance test- ( MH-CET) and JEE Main in order of preference.
The admission for first-year engineering degree courses is done through the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) for the following categories: 1) Maharashtra State Seat 2) All India Seats 3) Respective Minority Seats.
To become eligible for CAP the candidates need to register their application online. They can visit the website of the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra and filled up the form.
Candidates will be shortlisted for CAP rounds based on their score in the entrance exam and preferences given by them for courses and colleges.
51% seats are reserved for Minority Admissions (candidates belonging to Jain Community).
Institute level admissions & vacancies after CAP shall be done by the respective institute.
For any Admission either CAP or Institute Level, it is mandatory that the name of the candidate must appear in the CAP Merit list.
Final admission will be offered to candidates based on their performance in MHT CET, participation in the CAP, document verification and fee payment.
For PG Courses:
Candidates belonging to Maharashtra State and Other than Maharashtra State (OMS) have to appear for GATE.
The admission for first-year engineering degree courses is done through the Centralised Admission Process (CAP).
To become eligible for CAP the candidates need to register their application online. They can visit the website of the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra and fill-up the form.
Candidates who have appeared GATE and have marks above qualifying marks are only eligible for admission through CAP.
Non-GATE candidates: When enough GATE qualified candidates are not available in the respective branch, the vacant seats shall be offered to the Non-GATE candidates.
Admission for Non-GATE candidates is carried out by counseling as per merit at the qualifying examination.
