Hi Parameswari,
If you scored 842 marks in your Intermediate Public Examination (IPE) and aiming for a seat in the B.Sc. Computer Science program at Andhra University (AU), your chances are reasonably good, depending on a few key factors.
1. Andhra University typically admits students to undergraduate science courses based on merit in the qualifying examination without requiring an entrance test. 2. An IPE score of 842 out of 1000 reflects a strong academic record, especially if you are from a reserved category (SC/ST/BC/EWS), as AU follows the Government of Andhra Pradesh’s reservation norms.
3. For general category students, competition is tougher, and admission under free seats is more strictly merit-based.
4. The minimum eligibility to apply for B.Sc. programs is a 50% aggregate in the 10+2 examination with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, which your score likely exceeds.
Additionally, your chances improve if you fall under the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category or other reserved categories and have a valid income certificate. It’s essential to apply through the AU admission portal and select the appropriate quota (such as government or convener quota) during your application.
Keep all supporting documents ready, including your marks memo, caste and income certificates, and EWS proof if applicable.
While the exact cutoff varies yearly based on the applicant pool, a score of 842 is generally competitive for admission into popular courses like B.Sc. Computer Science under a free or subsidized seat, especially if you fulfill the eligibility criteria under any reserved category or merit-based admission policy.
hi,
With your rank of 20,015 and belonging to the BC-D category as a girl, you have a pretty fair chance to get a seat in the CSE (AI & ML) branch at Andhra University. Based on recent trends, last year the closing rank for BC-D girls in this branch was somewhere around 21,000 to 22,000. Since your rank is slightly better, you fall within the safe range. You should definitely include this option during your web counselling and keep checking each round carefully because small seat movements can make a big difference.
Dear student,
If you scored
1300 rank in AUEET
under the
BC-D category
, your chances of getting a seat in
Andhra University (AU)
are
fairly good
, especially for courses like CSE under the
Self-Supported
category. Reserved category candidates like BC-D typically have more relaxed cutoffs compared to the general category. In past years, candidates with ranks around
1290–1350
in similar BC categories have secured seats, especially if they were local.
