Hello,

Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Tamil Nadu will release the TNEA 2021 rank list on September 4 at tneaonline.org. TNEA Merit list is prepared on basis of candidate's marks scored in the relevant subjects Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics at 10+2 level. After that the overall rank is prepared by normalizing the marks scored by the candidates.Lets understand how normalization process works.

- If the highest marks secured by a student of State Board of Tamil Nadu in Physics are 100 and the highest marks secured by a student of any other Board in the same subject is 90 then both the highest marks will be considered to be equal to 100. If a student of the other Board secures 60 marks in Physics when the first mark in Physics in the same Board is 90, 60 marks will be considered to be equal to 66.66 marks as arrived below.

(100 x 60)/90 = 66.66 %

After normalisation of marks in the relevant subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by different Boards, qualified students will be included into a common TNEA rank list.

Hello,

Anna University is grant commission of India under this university. So this university certificate is more valuable. Like an IITs or NITs. If you want to do higher studies then I'll suggest you go this university. Infact if you want to go abroad for higher studies then also your bachalor degree certificate value but the main thing you have to give the entrance examination for go to the abroad. Also give the language examination. If you qualify all of these examination then you can go aborad for studies with students Visa.

All the best.

When you have to compare two colleges and have to arrive at a conclusion then you have to choose some of the parameters. This parameters can be a distinct number of events but to conclude this answer I am choosing some of the most important parameters like:

  • Infrastructure
  • Curriculum
  • Faculties
  • Placement

If you consider both of this colleges then I would recommend you to get admission in SSN over CEG because the infrastructure is better. The curriculum are of same types as well as the faculties don't have very much of educational differences. But in SSN the average package for non-core jobs is better than CEG. See in most cases you will not get placed in a Biomedical company its a reality of core field. But in SSN the average package offered for jobs to different disciplines are better compared to that of CEG.

To know more about CEG visit the link below:

I hope this answer helps. All the very best for your future endeavors!

Hope it helps.

Dear Aspirant,

ECE is the second most preferred branch . ECE deals with electronics and communication studies where as, Mining is the branch that deals with extraction and processing of metals and ores. It totally depends you which course excites you the most and you are interested in . Take up that course.

Anna University:-

Placements: On average, nearly 60% of the students got placed in the course. In the course, the highest salary package offered is 8 LPA, the average salary package offered is 5 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 3 LPA. None of the students got internships. While joining, they would be working as a graduate engineer trainee, and after 1 year, they would be appointed as assistant manager in mines. The students got placed in top companies like Vedanta, Triveni, Gymco and Tamil Nadu Cements. The role offered by the company is a graduate engineer trainee. There is also scope for IT sectors. Here no one will force you to study, and it is your wish to study.

Infrastructure: The college provides facilities like Wi-Fi, labs, RCC and library. Classrooms are good and equipped with a camera and air-conditioning facility. The food served in the canteen is highly hygienic, and the food served in a mess is not so good. Medical facilities are also good with ambulance services. Sports facilities are also encouraged and facilitated.

Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. The strength of faculty members in the department is less than required. The course curriculum is relevant, but it only makes students industry-ready for 50%. Some faculty members are great teachers.

SASTRA:-

Placements: Every year, almost 80% of students get placed. The highest package offered is around 35 LPA, and the lowest package offered is around 2 LPA (this varies every year). Most of the students get placed in Wipro and TCS. Companies like Microsoft, Amazon etc. Students got internships in Amazon, Microsoft, TCS, Wipro etc.

Infrastructure: All the hostels are enabled with Wi-Fi. There are also options to opt for the hostel type you like, and the price will vary accordingly. The food in the hostel is average. The college has charming infrastructure. It has good labs, a well designed central library and research centres, where you can transform your ideas into real-life projects. The campus has goods canteens and medical shops. We have gyms, an indoor stadium, football ground, and a basketball ground, and you can showcase your talent.

Faculty: All the teachers are qualified from well-known institutions. Most of the teachers are helpful and knowledgeable. Except few, all the teachers have good teaching skills. Except for a few topics, the course curriculum is relevant. You can get industry-ready if you are keen enough to gather more knowledge. Except few, all the semester papers are moderate, and you have to get 50% in total (internal and end-semester) to pass the subjects.

Hello Dhanush!!

Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) Counselling is conducted by Anna University to fill the engineering seats across Tamil Nadu.

TNEA admission process is based only upon the cutoff marks scored in 12th class, not based upon the 12th marks. To calculate the cutoff marks, refer the formula given below,

Cutoff = M + (P/2) + (C/2)

where M denotes the Mathematics marks, P stands for the marks scored in Physics subject and C stands for the marks scored in Chemistry subject.

After calculating the cutoff, you can visit the previous year cutoffs link provided in the official website of TNEA for your further reference. After the release of rank list, you can also visit the TNEA college predictor which is given in the below link,

https://engineering.careers360.com/tnea-college-predictor

After the calculation of cutoff only, we can predict the colleges you can get in the counselling. Feel free to comment!!

Hope this information helps you a lot!

Best of luck!!

Hello Aspirant!!

Admissions in Tamil Nadu Engineering Colleges is processed by TNEA counselling conducted by Anna University. The admissions are also carry forward by the cutoff scored in 12th class.

The formula used for calculating the cutoff is as follows:

Cutoff = M + (P/2) + (C/2), where M denotes mathematics marks, P denotes Physics marks and C denotes the marks scored in Chemistry.

So, your cutoff is,

Cutoff = 75 + (93/2) + (99/2) = 75+ 46.5 + 49.5 = 171/200

The cutoff for TNEA is 171 out of 200.

The cutoffs for CEG, MIT Campuses is relatively very high. The chances are very less to get a CSE seat in both of the colleges. But, under Anna University, there are many top Autonomous colleges and affiliated colleges. There are lot of chances to get a seat in any of those colleges for CSE.

To know more about the previous year cutoffs of famous colleges for CSE, visit the previous year links provided in the official website of TNEA and also visit the TNEA college predictor given below.

https://engineering.careers360.com/tnea-college-predictor

Hope this information helps you!

Best of luck!
