hi
nope. they are different
college of engineering guindy is anna university affiliated colleges. but anna university is the main college. all the regulations and syllabus are passed by anna university, while anna university affiliated colleges (including CEG) follow anna university.
so they are completely different in both campus, location management, everything
The biggest advantage of College of Engineering Guindy is its location. Being located near IT and Industrial Hubs at Chennai as well as adjacent to IIT Madras and IITM Research Park, provides excellent impetus to training and placement prospects.
Most of thw major recruiters visit COE Guindy like Tata Motors, TVS, Bajaj, Tractors India, Intel, Amazon, Microsoft and so on.

According to your query and taking into consideration that you want to take production and mechanical .
As we know according to branch preference mechanical has higher preference than production branch. It solely depends upon in which part of mechanical engineering you are interested in. I would personally recommend you to take mechanical engineering as you would get a wider scope.
