Yes ofcourse you can definitely take your exam from cs even if you did your BTech from ece. This is a confusing among many students but many students take there exam from a different branch than there own.

Anna University offers 31 undergraduate and 64 post graduate courses in various disciplines. Anna University conducts TANCET exam for admissions to the PG programmes including M. E. / M. TECH in the various colleges of Tamil Nadu. Merit list is prepared based on the rank secured in both GATE and TANCET. A candidate who needs admission in Anna University can appear in TANCET and GATE qualifiers are exempted from TANCET exam.

Hello aspirant , Anna University is better than Andra University. In Mtech faculty as well as placement matters.  In terms of placement Anna University it better. When it comes to faculty then also Anna University is better than Andra University. So one should chose Anna University ,if one is getting desired stream there..
