College does not have many necessary facilities with in the lab and classes equipment not in working conditions and wifi is only a formality sports facilities are worst to null hostel are not hugenic.
I am currently pursuing my carrer in bachelor of technology in electronic engineering. The quality of teaching i guess i can rate to average to below average as there is clear shortage of faculties and lab assistants. The curriculum is updated but lacks implementation.
As there is big history thus has great network of aluminis thus makes it easier to check and apply in many companies but this network is very limited to the chemical technology department not all fields are considered.
The cost of the course per year is definitely exceeds to those of similar level colleges and i really don't think that it deserves the value for money tag because whether you take faculties, infrastructure they don't deserve it.
The campus has many short comings and it really needs to be updated to the current standards set up by the government.
The college has a decent infrastructure, all the college building are widely located, if they just maintained more well it'll be all much better, there are 2 canteens, workshop and there are seperate departments for all the different branches.
I am pursuing my B.tech in chemical engineering here and I'll graduate in the year 2025, the teaching quality is okay, no that upto mark but some teachers are really good in teaching and also helpful too. And yes the curriculum seems updated.
The placements in my college are great, one of the reason it's great it's because of it's wide alumni network. The average salary offered is 8LPA, the placement process is easy and College is supportive, most of the students get placed.
The course cost 1.35 LPA. Yes i feel like getting money's worth.
No , I don't think that our college have appropriate facilities and equipment like if we talk about infrastructure the buildings are not we'll maintained even the main building where all the academic work goes on is also not reinnovated it is going on from 1921, when our college was established.
I am involved in chemical engineering department and its my 2nd year only so I could not really say if the things which are taught are helpful or not but I must be saying that college should focus more on practical s rather than theory
Placements in our college in few specific branches are excellent like 100% people get placed and also at average package according to their branches. As long as we talk about placement procedure then again I am only in 2nd year so can't have say on this
Per year we give 135000 to the college and according to me we are giving much than required
If we talk about campus life then our campus is nearly 77 acres and we have so what can you expect from this but like life becomes easier by people not by the place so ya college life I good I should say
The infrastructure of a college plays a vital role in the development of the college as the students are now focusing on the labs, class rooms, etc while selecting a college. It is important that the colleges have very good infrastructure with advanced laboratories equipped with state of the art equipment.
There’s no doubt that the cost of education is on the rise. The financial concerns of earning your education should never stop you from doing so because, as Harcourt Butler once said, this investment in yourself will pay you back with interest over your entire lifetime. Additionally, you can earn your education in a cost-effective way. Check out the University of the People’s degree programs that are all tuition fees.
Harcourt Butler Technical University (HBTU), Kanpur has an active placement cell. The institute successfully conducted its 2021 placement drive. The students achieved good CTC packages during HBTU Placements 2021. 63.61% of the total students in the participating batch were placed during the placement drive. A total of 437 students were eligible to participate in the placement process. They received 278 placement offers from the recruiting companies.
If we think about our money investment in our college there's no chance of wastage of money because in our college so the practical attitude of today's college students makes sense. Sure, more young people value learning for what it can do for them. They don't have the freedom that boomers had to focus on learning for its own sake.
You get a lot of free time at college which allows you to prepare for exams like CAT,GATE,UPSC etc. Hbti hosts 7–8 fests every year as each branch conducts its own fest giving ample opportunities to show case & impove your skills and talents. The cultural fest ADHYAY (every year the name changes) is the biggest hit for the entire year ,the whole college is divided into groups depending upon the branches forming a cluster.
Well, HBTI is a reputed college and has a good reputation in the corporate sector. But wait, HBTI doesn't even exist now and its what people call HBTU. I was a student there when the college changed to a university. The college has lost its charm and the quality of students taking admission is degrading. It's not the same college it used to be. The hike in fees of the institute and the hostels makes it even worse as it's not really worthy of the fees it has set.
Infrastructure is the part and parcel of any prestigious university. Similarly it goes with HBTU as well. The academic building is set in a vintage style to the appeal of its founding father Sir Spencer Harcourt Butler. Most of the buildings are under reconstruction and recovery but overall it looks just as fine. The labs are well furnished with updated technology. HBTU is proud of its workshop which meets the standard of even IIT's. The living space are cleaned daily while the classroom is good.
I am pursuing Civil Engg from HBTU. Faculties are mostly sincere and dedicated professionals with some exceptions. However our curriculum is not updated. That same curriculum is followed from 90s onwards.Recent developments in truss and bridges is not covered in our curriculum. We do get some projects in our 3rd and final year but they are insufficient to be job ready.
Placements is what I assume to be the most important factor in taking admission in a certain college. Post COVID era the placements are on a rise but the rate is slow.Non core department show a good placements drive proving the University's excellence in chemical engineering. However core department lags in Civil, mechanical and electrical departments providing only for CS,IT and ECE. I personally feel that the placement cell has to be more active in this aspect.
My fees per year in HBTU would be around 2 lacs. This has increased from 2016 when it deemed to be a university which was around 1,25,000. You may feel like you are not getting your money's worth in HBTU especially if you are in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical. However, if you put into the extra efforts surely you will make it out successful.
Campus Life is fantastic. The seniors are amazing being needful and helpful in every way possible. You may feel being part of a family. There are various clubs and sub councils in which you can explore your interests.HBTU is located in Nawabganj which is close to the zoo and the nawabganj market. There is medical ambulance in case of an emergency. Also the Nawabganj thana is close by.
My college is bit of bad in terms of infrastructure, here you will get all the equipments but talking about their conditions is that they all may not work properly , Classrooms are good with smart board in each class .
Here I am pursuing btech in chemical engineering as it has very good exposure in field of chemical Engineering and I always wanted to be chemical engineer, due to its huge alumni network it has best future ,or you may say that your future is in safe hands if you are pursuing chemical Engineering from HBTU.
Placements are very good on an overall average 8 lakh of .. considering all branches and maximum is 60lakh .. about 80-85% students are being placed every year from HBTU kanpur.Placement process is easy here first you should satisfy eligibility criteria for the desired company and they you will seat for the interview process.
It cost 135000 for first year and 127500 for next 3 years . But paying fee for this collage is worh it because you will ready for getting placement and the end of 4th year , and here you get exposure for the next of your future if you want to carry out your education further
Campus Life is just awesome it has many councils and sub councils which is run by students bosy and the respective heads are selected through interview process , and talking about the professors it's on you how you make bind with teacher so that they can support you , location of the institute is quite good you have the market within 1km range
Yes the college have all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipment. In classroom there is digital board and laboratories are well organized, libraries, sports centers and hostels they all are well maintained. Yes the living spaces clean and the food hygienic.
I'm studying mechanical engineering. It's my b.tech 2nd year. Quality of teaching is good. Yes the curriculum is updated includes all the recent development in the field of every branches .yes it make for job ready.
Placement is very nice. Around 80-90% students placed. Highest package 60lakh per annually.it from CS. Average pacakage of 7 lakh per annum . The placement process is easy and pleasant. Yes the college is very supportive.
Nice
College campus is good and the students of Harcourt butler technical university are very talented teachers and staffs are very supportive. Location near nawabganj .yes it is safe.yes it can handle emergencies
Nice
College infrastructure is not at par with nits, iiits. It's infrastructure is similar to the aktu college not good not bad. Classroom are moderate, library I. e. Central Library is best in the college, this is the thing that i compare with the colleges like nits, etc. Living specs , we can say clean yes and food is hygienic.
In terms of academics, only bookish knowledge is given no focus on practical knowledge they never encourage u to do some wonderful projects. The curriculum is not yet updated, old curriculum is followed by college department. Professors are good in Cse department if we compare it with other department
Placements is the only thing that worth it. In Cse department, the average package goes nearly 10 lpa and median package ranges between 9-10 lpa. Placement process is not that tough but the coding round and hr round takes place which makes it difficult to crack.
When u come to college your main motive is to get good placement with an enormous amount of knowledge, but when u are a cs student, then a laptop is sufficient for u to get knowledge, so at the end you want to take better placement which ultimately u get after 4 years. So, it totally worth your money.
Campus life is good, the main thing is mainly 80%people from up so u find many people from your own culture, so they are quite more interactive . The college is not in the remote place. Teachers are supportive in Cse department, they always help the students.
Overall college is good however it has some good and bad features but overall when it comes to study quality, student quality, they all are great.Placement are nice. College is too old so it is having rich heritage.
The infrastructure is old , the labs are well equipped . classrooms are spacious . The entire campus is enabled with WiFi of jio but it's very slow. The living spaces and campus surroundings are very clean but sometimes streets dogs find roaming inside the campus or even classes. The college lacks in providing good sports facilities.
Teaching quality is awesome. Hbtu really have educated teachers who has nice teaching skills and also helps students when needed. The curriculum is updated regularly and includes all the recent developments in the field.
Placements are the best in our college . The highest salary packages is like 60 LPA. There are Great recruiters .And the college has a very wide alumni network. The average salary package for all branches is 8-9 LPA . The College is also very supportive .
Not new and sophisticated instruments but old and defected instruments are available. new instruments are available in small numbers. But the environment and li ing space is clean and good enough. Library is good.
I am studying civil engineering. Quality of teaching good enough. Some teachers are very good and some are average. I do think my curriculum is updated and includes all the recent developments in the field. Yes , of course what we study makes us job ready.
Placement in my branch is not very good. Highest package goes to computer science student. And also the placement percentage of same branch is higher. Placement process is of course very easy and pleasant
Hello Aditya,
The CSE cut off in computer science in HBTU was 22184 for the other state quota and for the Uttar Pradesh domicile quota, it was also the same. So you should get around 98 percentile in order to get the cse branch in this college.
However the cut off may vary due to certain factors such as number of candidates appearing in the examination, previous year cutoffs and difficulty level of the examination and the number of seats available in the college.
Dear aspirant hope you are doing well..
HBTU Kanpur (Formerly HBTI Kanpur) Cutoff 2021
Branch nameOpening rank & Closing rank
