Infrastructure is not that good it is ok ok as the college is about 100 years old the buildings are maintained and the labs are being renovated with modern equipments and cleanliness is maintained in the campus but canteens are not good
Faculty members are well qualified either they are PhD holder or Mtech from renowned universities, curriculum is almost same as AKTU which focuses more on theory than practicals which is a major drawback in almost all indian educational institutions
Placement records are amazing here almost 90% students get placed and in technology branches it goes as high as 100 %average placement is around 6 lakhs per annum which is a good start for a fresh engineering graduate in India
135000 is the fee one pay for one year (only academic)
University is situated in the centre of the city so one will never be Far from KFC mcD and malls
proper cleanliness is maintained in the campus buildings are almost now 100 years old hence proper maintenance is done labs are being renovated so that to make them at par to the modern technology whole campus is secured with cctv cameras
faculty are well qualified and are phd holders i am a student of plastic technology as it is something out of the league and only few universities across the country offer this course faculty is supportive
placement is the main factors which attracts people here as per records almost 90% students get placed and few technology branches like paint plastic placements go as high as 100% and the average package is around 6 lakhs
fees is high as compared to few government collages but those collages stand no where in front of HBTU taking academic fees only it is around 135000 rs per annum and that can be waived with the help of state govt scholarships
campus life is good as proper cleanliness is maintained in the campus and whole campus is covered with cctv cameras teachers facuty is supportive seniors are also supportive and its a huge campus to roam
The infrastructure is one the main issues of this college. But we can see slowly improvement in the infrastructure. Specially the roads inside the campus been have improved in a good pace. The buildings are painted too.
Academics has improved from year 2019 because of recruitment of faculties from TEQUIP-III. These new teachers are disciplined, punctual in classes and have a good knowledge of their subject. Even sometimes they guide for competitive exams too.
This year the placement has improved too. But we didn't got much companies in civil engineering. But we got good improvement in the salary package. Some students even got it from companies like Google too.
our college have all the basic facilities and proper cleanliness is maintained in the campus and all labs are up to the mark but being 100 years old they need renovation which is ongoing in the college .
I am a student of plastic technology branch the quality of teaching is good but depends on the professors they are well qualified and most of them are PhD holders from well known collages but as government collage it depends on your caliber
placement is the main factor which influences the students and this collage do quite well in it taking cse branch the highest packages go around 60 lakh and 48 lakh in and out campus &technology branches have 100%placement
it cost around 135000 rs per year excluding hostel and overheads and it is worthy to that being a developing university and good placement and also you can get state scholarships if you are unable to pay the fees
we have 2 fests in a year excluding the freshers one is cultural and tech fest and second one is sports fest and you will enjoy the fullest in it apart it you will get good supportive seniors to help you around
The colleges has all basic facilities available except the sports where no maintenance or any kind of heed is given. The hostels are comparatively good and well maintained. The main building has all the basic facilities available except WIFI which has been installed in hostels from this year onwards
The teachers are decent for first year which are mostly guest lecturers but the permanent faculties are highly qualified and experienced. The curriculum is not updated but the proffesors are industry oriented.
Placements are very good in HBTU , due to its large alumni base and high reputation as the best state government College in UP. Many recruiters come for placement for Plastic Technology like Reliance , ExxonMobil and some automobile companies give placement too.
The fees for college is 1,35,000 , but scholarship is provided if you are eligible for it. Hostel fees is 63,000 per year. So the total comes around 2 lakh per year which is quite high for a government College but I feel it's worth the money.
The campus is not very happening and there are not many activities to take part in while in college. After the college gets over there's not much up to look to in the campus except those who play some sports. Not many clubs are present.
Campus has All the facilities with all the basic amenities laboratories are well maintained and are being renovated for modern technology and the whole campus is under cctv surveillance hence it is totally safe.
Faculty here is good, supportive and is well qualified maximum of them are PhD holders and the new recruits are generally from. iit's curriculum is almost similar to every other college in INDIA is based on theory rather than practicals
Placements is the major role which attracts the students almost 90 % students gets placed and few branches even have 100% placements maximum package CSE students get is around 60 lakhs off campus and 48 lakhs in campus
Course costs around 1.35 lakhs excluding the hostel fees and it's is worth it either if you consider placements or the facilities provided by the college. And one can easily wave the fees with the help of state scholarship
Campus life here is good teachers and seniors are supportive except few but all other things are good campus is situated in the centre of the city hence you will never be Far from the top outlets like KFC mc d and malls
Being an almost 100 year old college it has buildings over 50 years old which due to their age requires constant maintenance. Infrastructure is old and dated, although it's constantly being updated every year to current standards. Average quality food and above average quality sanitation is maintained. Smart classes are being constantly updated.
Most faculty is on contract basis and lacks the skills and experience required to teach. On the other hand the permanent faculty has a lot of experience and are highly respected and reputed in their field. Classes are average and are mostly taken by guest faculty, mostly ends up doing it on our own.
Placements is where the institute shines. Being an old institute it carries a certain name which comes in handy during placements. It has a large alumni base which helps too. Packages are above average for the level, figures are detailed and are not inflated by the institute.
The college has almost all the latest academic related facilities. Classrooms are equiped with samsung smart boards which are completely in use. Laboratories have modern equipments. Library has sufficient amount of books and reading space. Sports facilities(courts and equipments) are not so well maintained.wifi facility is available all over the campus and hostels. Hostels are old and are not in good condition, they have poor maintainence.
I am studying Bio-chemical engineering, its a unique and new stream which is taught only in few colleges all over india. I am studying it due to its future scope and importance in various fields(mainly in research). Quality of teaching is fine but as always no matter how good is quality of teaching students have to study by themselves. Curriculum is regularly updated and includes all the recent developments in the field and equipments which completely makes us eligible and ready for a job.
Placement record of this college has been outstanding from a very long time. Since its a very old college completing its 100 years it has a broad network of alumni which makes placement easier. Almost 85% students who sit for placements are placed. This year highest package offered was of 60 lakhs by google to a CS student. Average salary offered is around 5.30 lakhs. College is very supportive in matter of placements.
In 1st year it costs 1,35,000Rs. But the fees increases as we promote to further years. I don't feel i am getting the worth of my money, there are still lack of many facilities and proper and latest infrastructure for meeting various needs of the students. Level of maintenance is also poor. I think for the amount of money we pay, we should get proper facilities and infrastructure.
College campus is good.since no.Of students is less therefore its peaceful and everybody is able to interact with almost everyone Which is the best thing. The complete campus is divided in to two parts which makes the main college campus a little small which is i think the worst thing. There are various activities both academic and extracurricular are conducted in college in which student can participate to improve its skill. The location of college is good, it is situated in the mid of city.
Overall the experience is good. No college is perfect, Every college has some problems and defects but the main experience and satisfaction is build by the people around you and by the vibe of college And this college has a very good vibe and respect. But being practical at the end placement is also important and as i told placement record of hbtu is very good. So i think this clears all.and one more fact i would like to tell that hbtu is the mother of iit kanpur so it has its own reputaion.
overall the college infrastructure is good ,we are provided with all the basic amenities which are needed like proper cleanliness , WiFi and other things which a student needs ,classrooms are now being equiped with smartboards.
HBTU is among the oldest college in the country so teaches here are well qualified maximum of them are PhD holders and they are supportive to a good extent they will guide you properly but few of them are not as good as they will seem.
placements are very good this is most important factor of this university with almost 90% placement and in few branches it goes as high as 100% with good packages comparing to which a engineering graduate gets CSE branch highest last year was 60 and 48 lakhs
fees is around 1.35 lakhs per year excluding hostel and mess fees which will cost you about 60000 more . If you are not from a good background you can apply for state government scholarship which will help you wipe out the academic fee
campus life depends on what kind of people you will meet and your friends you will enjoy being here it is a huge campus to roam around but i can bet if you will join here majority of your time will be spent in college canteens and outside auditorium.
Hostels are average...............instfracstructure is good. Yes...space is clean and food ia hygienic too..wifi speed ia good enough ................but amount of data they provide is much less.......
Qualtiy of teaching is good..yep..curriculum is updated....i am studying food technology .. the quailty of teaching is good... some teachers are exceptional in teaching.. they put a lot of hard work...
Number of placements are better than other colleges..also... students got much higher package than other colleges highest package.. average package is too good... as I have heard from seniors ... the process is easy for placements..
135000 is the coast of course per year.. yep..its worth enough... teachers really put a hard work and they are dedicated.. regular labs and practicals take place..where students can clear there doubts easily..
Campus life is good.. it is near zoo.. and students are safe too... campus size is much good... yes...it can handle emergencies... there is a proper place for parking tooo.. where one can park his vehicles easily..
Overall it is good........
Hello Aditya,
The CSE cut off in computer science in HBTU was 22184 for the other state quota and for the Uttar Pradesh domicile quota, it was also the same. So you should get around 98 percentile in order to get the cse branch in this college.
However the cut off may vary due to certain factors such as number of candidates appearing in the examination, previous year cutoffs and difficulty level of the examination and the number of seats available in the college.
Dear aspirant hope you are doing well..
HBTU Kanpur (Formerly HBTI Kanpur) Cutoff 2021
Branch nameOpening rank & Closing rank
According to your percentile your rank will lie between 2,11,535 - 1,75,566 . According to previous years cut off. your chances are very less to get admission in HBTI in any branch.
