Course Overview

Water, Society, and Sustainability certification is a course for one month that is held directly using the Swayam platform. The course curriculum is designed by the 2 institutions NPTEL and IIT Kharagpur to help understand the global water scenario. The world consists of a number of people who do not have access to safe and clean water. Candidates will learn about certain lessons from small-scale community water conservation practices.

Water, Society, and Sustainability training for the course exhibits all the characteristics across technology, water, society, and science The course is located at the intersections across the water, technology, science, and society towards a sustainable future. The context is important for understanding and addressing the need for water beyond the technical, and physical attributes of the water shapes designed by the society. Though the Water, Society, and Sustainability certification fee by NPTEL and IIT Kharagpur is free, the completion certification isn’t free, as an optional fee of Rs. 1000 is charged from the participants.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Students from different fields of study including water resource engineering, agriculture, rural development, environmental sciences, geology, social sciences, humanities, and civil engineering are preferred.

Certification Qualifying Details

Water, Society, and Sustainability certification by NPTEL and IIT Kharagpur depend on the average assignment score and the final exam score. The scores for the assignment must at least be out of 25, 10 marks. As for the proctored exam, securing 30 is a must out of 75. Failing to meet the above criteria will result in not receiving the certificate.

Application Details

Swayam has decided to chop off the application form filling process by replacing it with only a 2 liner registration form. All they need to know is the candidate’s email IDs, username, and some secure password. The sign-up has been made easier as Swayam allows Microsoft, and Google accounts to be used for registration.

Evaluation process

A final examination is scheduled for the students if they decide on getting themselves completion certificates. The exam is proctored and is never held online, and the total marks for it are 75 out of which for seeking the certification a minimum of 30 has to be attained.
